The Applications Specialist is the subject matter expert for a suite of applications used to support the legal and financial operations of the firm. Reporting to the Manager, Apps Development & Support, the Applications Specialist is part of a team that is responsible for installation, daily support, and operation of all applications, databases, and SaaS offerings in the firm.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:- Manage and/or participate in application evaluation, installation, configuration, upgrades, and maintenance.
- Assist with research, analysis, and planning to deploy new features and functions as requested by IT leadership.
- Manage and support all applications and their databases, including but not limited to iManage, Aderant Expert, Interaction, Integration Builder, Intapp Walls, Intapp Open, vi by Aderant, SharePoint Online, and any other legal software.
- Manage and maintain the firm's database infrastructure (Microsoft SQL Server) including backups, restores, and performance tuning.
- Provide 2ndlevel support to IT and business staff for supported applications and technologies.
- Establish strong, trusting working relationships with IT and business staff.
Qualifications: Knowledge & Experience:- University degree or college diploma in computer science, computer engineering, or an equivalent subject from a recognized institution.
- 2+ years of experience in Applications or Database Administration or a related field.
- Experience working with applications that interface with third party software and services.
- Must have strong knowledge of MS SQL Server including experience with SSRS, creating views, stored procedures, and triggers.
- Must have experience with Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS).
- Working knowledge of MS Windows desktop and server operating systems.
- Familiarity with programming concepts in modern languages (C#, JavaScript, HTML).

- Familiarity with IT service management principles (incident management, change management).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to track and prioritize multiple projects and tasks, sometimes during urgent or emergency situations.

Salary Range (Toronto Only):- $90,000 - $100,000 annually.
