With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA's metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. First to deliver the best imaging and classification data for every defect or point on any layer at any time. EBeam's mission encapsulates its role as the "eyes" of KLA's product line, providing timely information on defects and critical locations on the wafer at the highest spatial resolution possible. Customers use EBeam products alongside KLA patterned and bare wafer inspectors to quickly understand the nature of defects and other imperfections on product wafers and take action to correct the manufacturing process.

Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

Responsibilities
  • Product Development: Characterization of next generation state-of-the art semiconductor wafer inspection, review & metrology products. This includes designing test plans, collecting data, performing analysis, publishing results and recommendations in the form of applications notes, best known methods.
  • Use-case Demos: Conduct new tool demonstrations to showcase tool performance and develop use cases to help drive tool sales.
  • Customer support: Product value demonstration during Beta testing, Evaluations, and Head-to-Heads (H2H), thereby enabling product penetration/adoption at world-wide customers. This includes - investigating semiconductor manufacturing yield issues and providing inspection, review & metrology solutions; creating & sharing product value statements and use-cases with engineering, marketing and sales groups; training customers and other applications engineers.


Qualifications
  • We are looking for high energy, self-driven and motivated engineers who are interested in working in High Tech. The semiconductor space is a fast paced, high stress environment that gives applications engineers a lot of autonomy to work and drive projects on their own. Ideal candidates appreciate the opportunity to have high levels of accountability, working well with limited supervision and thrive in a work environment where they can drive projects on their own.
  • Educational background in Engineering, Physics is desired.
  • Ability to perform complex data/image analysis using data-analysis tools.
  • A background in IC processing/Semiconductor equipment strongly desirable.
  • Teamwork is critical so having a good balance between technical skills and people skills is a must.
  • Must have excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Candidate will be required to frequently present results to internal as well as external customers.
  • Domestic/international travel up to 50% on short notice (trips could be 4-8 weeks long) is required to support projects at customer sites.


Minimum Qualifications

Master's or Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Physics, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or a related field

Base Pay Range: $97,800.00 - $166,300.00 Annually
