Job Description Summary
The Applications Analyst II – IT Revenue Cycle (Patient Access) serves as a primary resource for system configuration, deployment, and support of revenue cycle information systems specific to Scheduling and Registration within Oracle Health/Cerner solutions. This position partners closely with revenue cycle operations and clinical applications teams to analyze, design, and implement system solutions that enhance operational efficiency and patient access workflows. The Applications Analyst II collaborates with end-users to gather requirements, facilitates workflow analysis, and validates system performance to ensure alignment with business goals.Job Description
The Applications Analyst II, IT Revenue Cycle (Patient Access) will:
Support revenue cycle and patient access applications including installing upgrades, providing enhancements, troubleshooting issues, and ongoing problem management.
Analyze existing revenue cycle applications and workflows toidentifyopportunities for enhancement, optimization and operational efficiency improvements.
Collaborate with end-users and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Design, develop, configure, document, test and implement software solutions to address business needs and improve revenue cycle efficiency.
Conduct thorough testing and validation of system enhancements to ensure quality, reliability and alignment with business objectives.
Provide ongoing support and maintenance for revenue cycle applications, including troubleshooting, issue resolution, and performance monitoring.
Respond promptly to user inquiries and technical issues, delivering effective solutions to minimize system downtime.
Collaborate with vendors and internal IT teams to escalate and resolve complex technical issues as needed.
Implement system upgrades and patches in coordination with IT infrastructure teams, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
Create andmaintaincomprehensive documentation, including technical specifications, user guides, technical specifications, maintenance documentation and process workflows.
Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging technologies in revenue cycle management, sharing insights with the team.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Revenue Cycle Operations, Quality Control & Education, and Finance, to align system capabilities with businessobjectivesand regulatory requirements.
Participate in project teams and meetings torepresentthe IT Revenue Cycle perspective, contributing recommendations for system improvements and strategic initiatives.
Develop project plans with timelines, milestones, defined roles and responsibilities, and communication plans.
Perform all other duties that may be assigned in the best interest of Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.
Reporting Relationships:
Reports directly to the Manager, IT Revenue Cycle Applications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Bachelor27s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
Current or prior certification in one or more Cerner/Oracle Health applications preferred (e.g., Cerner Application Specialist, Cerner Integration Architect, Revenue Cycle certifications).
Minimum of 2 years of experience in applications analysis, consulting, software development, or related IT roles, preferably in healthcare or revenue cycle management.
Minimum of 2 years of experience with Cerner Millennium (Oracle Health) revenue cycle solutions in a technical capacity.
Strong knowledge of registration and scheduling workflows, processes and front-end applications (RevenueCycle.exe).
Strong knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle processes, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., HIPAA, Patient Access, Charge Services, Patient Accounting).
Intermediate knowledge of configuration applications such as RevenueCycleMaintenance.exe, Schtools.exe, HNAUser.exe, Bedrock.exe, and Olympus.
Intermediate knowledge of Cerner Command Language (CCL) for troubleshooting and system support.
Firm understanding of operational workflows and the ability to work independently with users to define how technology can support and improve business processes.
Ability and willingness to learn new tools and Healthcare Information Systems as part ofSRALab27sfuture core applications toolset.
Proven ability to manage software initiatives and projects of varying sizes and complexity.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex systems,identifyissues, and propose effective solutions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse stakeholders and teams.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
Professional computer skills necessary to prepare project plans, presentations, process workflows, test plans, and technical documentation.
Working Conditions:
