Responsibilities

Full Job Description
At this moment, we need an Applications Engineer to cover the province of Alberta.

You will be focused on:

  • Work with sales team on sales studies, helping them to demonstrate to prospective clients what Mazak Machines can do.
  • Support clients by training, responding to inquiries, going on-site to client locations, and helping on machine programming.


The job duties are (but are not limited to):

  • Work with Sales team to understand prospective client's needs and develops time / process studies, test cuts, product examples, ROI studies.
  • Train clients on Mazak machines use and controls for operator's optimal utilization of machines.
  • Answer clients and field service technicians' inquiries by phone and email to help diagnose and repair software related problems on machines, off-site, and on-site.
  • Test operation of machines and accessories after completing installation or repair.
  • Learn new machines features and accessories as they become available.
  • Complete reports documenting installation, assessment of reported problem, repairs completed, software updates, etc.
  • Utilize various software for designing, testing and changing client products and implementing those on Mazak Machines as needed.
  • Test operation of machines and accessories after completing installation or repair.


What are your Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience as a CNC Machinist, with strong mechanical aptitude
  • Experience as a CNC Programmer and the ability to independently program both CNC milling machines and lathes.
  • G-Drivers License, with reliable transportation
  • Minimum: CNC Machinist Diploma or Industry Experience
  • Security Clearance (nice to have)
  • Forklift and Crane Certification


Travelling Requirement: 25 to 50% of the time through Western Canada. Assignments might require overnight or multiple night stay from time to time.
