What You’ll Be Doing

The Senior Consultant, Application Development is responsible for leading the data technical design, development, and integration of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems. You will drive enhancements to existing technologies and work on complex issues involving one or more technical areas, mentoring employees and performing tasks of advanced technical depth and breadth. Your responsibilities include designing, building, and maintaining ETL pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and integration across diverse platforms, as well as ensuring robust data governance and security practices to maintain data quality and compliance. You will provide consultation to senior management on a wide spectrum of existing and emerging infrastructure technologies, translating user requirements into process and data requirements, and developing solutions with far-reaching business impact. As a technical leader, you will develop precise steps and processing logic across all platforms, ensuring that specifications achieve business needs. You will collaborate with developers, architects, and infrastructure specialists to gather requirements and conduct research to evaluate new and emerging tools and techniques—including proficiency in Python and PostgresSQL for data engineering and analytics. You will identify patterns and best practices to consider in technology proposals, anticipate long-term business issues, and devise new methods and procedures using strong analytic and inductive thinking. Additionally, you will develop project plans based on appropriate standards and methodology and make technology selection decisions, even in situations where business requirements are not fully defined.

How you’ll succeed

  • Strategic Development & Execution: Perform and coordinate complex solution design activities. Understand the business requirements and translate them into system and application design that is aligned with our technology roadmap. Design and document the technical functionality, infrastructure, interfaces and integrations. Lead the design of cost-effective and innovative solutions to meet both business objectives and the goal of operational efficiency. 
  • Strategy and Roadmap: Contribute to technology roadmaps that are aligned with the bank’s vision, strategy, and business objectives. Lead multiple complex technology solutions while maintaining consistency across the platform, adopting best practices and pushing forward continuous improvements
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as the solution lead and interface with the project teams by driving and moderating design review sessions to walk stakeholders through and ensure that the overall design aligns with business requirements as well as architectural directions. Support and mentor junior designers and developers through knowledge sharing, collaboration and effective problem solving

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate 8-10+ years’ experience in. designing, developing, implementing and supporting applications with expertise in most of the following: Data Stores (DataBricks, Lakebase, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB), Cloud (Azure, AWS), ETL, and Source control/issue management (Git, JIRA).
  • You have hands-on experience with: DataBricks, Lakebase, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB, including managing, optimizing, and scaling these platforms for enterprise data solutions.
