About the role
As an Application Architect (.NET), you will make an impact by designing and delivering scalable, business-critical web applications and integration solutions. You will be a valued member of the technology team, collaborating with business stakeholders, developers, and architects to create robust application architectures that support business objectives and optimize downstream data usage.
In this role, you will:
• Design and develop application architectures that are scalable, secure, and aligned with business requirements.
• Lead the design and implementation of inbound and outbound interfaces, APIs, and system integrations.
• Build and enhance applications using ASP.NET, ASP.NET Web API, and related Microsoft technologies.
• Partner with business users and stakeholders to understand application functionality, user interactions, and business processes.
• Analyze how application data flows across systems and ensure effective integration with downstream business processes.
• Provide technical guidance and architectural recommendations to development teams and project stakeholders.
• Drive best practices in application design, coding standards, performance optimization, and maintainability.

What you need to have to be considered
• Strong experience designing and implementing enterprise application architectures.
• Hands-on expertise with ASP.NET and ASP.NET Web API development.
• Proficiency in.NET, C#, VB.NET, Classic VB, JavaScript, and SQL.
• Experience with HTML5, CSS3, AJAX, RESTful APIs, jQuery, and Bootstrap.
• Strong understanding of application integration patterns, inbound/outbound interfaces, and API-driven architectures.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and understand end-to-end business processes.
• Excellent communication and customer interaction skills.
This will help you stand out
• Experience modernizing legacy applications and migrating them to contemporary .NET platforms.
• Knowledge of cloud-based architectures and application deployment practices.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Familiarity with application performance tuning, monitoring, and security best practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to influence technical decisions across teams.
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $63,000 to $99,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
