Leidos has an exciting and rewarding opportunity for an Application Specialistat the DOE Portsmouth (Piketon, Ohio) site. The position will be part of an IT team responsible for the design, deployment, maintenance,configuration management and troubleshooting of Commercial-off-the-shelfsoftware applications and approved custom developed applications to support business requirements/needs.
Primary Responsibilities
Design, develop andmaintainsoftware applications to meet business requirements
Provide support for Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software applications
Provide support forcomplexissues related to software tools, applications,databasesand system access
Interface with software vendors to analyze, implement or resolve issues with software applications
Recommend software solutions to meet end user and business needs
Support Cyber Security compliance and audit/assessmentpreparations
Consult with business organizations toidentifyneeds/requirements
Develops andmaintainsdocumentation, user manuals,guidesandtechnical information associated with software applications
Supports recommendations and plans for software development,operationsand procurements
Apply software updates and patches
Perform work according to Software Quality Assurance policies and procedures
Remediate Cyber Security vulnerabilities within requiredtimeframes
Identifyand resolve software issues
Build and foster good working relationships with coworkers,customersand visitors
Close work orders with detailed resolution andin a timely manner
Basic Qualifications
Requires aBachelors degreefrom an accredited college or university and 3 years of experience, or five years additional experience to substitute for the degree.
Must be able to obtain andmaintainaU.S. Department of Energy (DOE)Q security clearance;U.S. citizenshiprequired
Experience with the implementation,operationand maintenance of COTS software
Strong attention to detail with organization and time management skills
Must have exceptional analytical and technical problem-solving skills
Demonstrate excellentoral and written communication skills
Demonstrate a personal commitment to safety and quality.
Ability to worksuccessfullybothindependentlyandcollaboratively
Exhibit a high degree of professionalism in the production of deliverables andduringinteractions with fellow employees and customers.
Experience working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
High levelof discretion handling sensitive data
Preferred Qualifications
DOE site experience
Active DOE clearance
Related industry-recognized certifications
Software development experience
Database experience
