Position Overview

AET Federal, Inc. is seeking an experienced Appian/Application Developer to support an anticipated Department of Education contract. The developer will support Federal information systems through application development, configuration, maintenance, enhancement, troubleshooting, testing, and technical support.

This is a key personnel position contingent upon contract award.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, configure, and enhance applications using the Appian platform.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot existing applications, integrations, workflows, and system components.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into scalable application solutions.
  • Configure Appian interfaces, process models, records, reports, rules, and related components.
  • Conduct unit, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing support.
  • Diagnose application defects and performance issues and implement timely resolutions.
  • Provide ongoing technical support for production and non-production environments.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, configuration records, test materials, and deployment instructions.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
  • Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, testers, technical teams, and Federal stakeholders.
  • Support application releases, deployments, maintenance activities, and continuous improvements.
  • Follow applicable Federal security, privacy, accessibility, configuration management, and software-development requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Current Appian certification applicable to the assigned developer role.
  • At least three years of experience supporting Federal Government information systems of similar size, scope, complexity, and technical environment.
  • At least three years of experience with Agile product development and implementation.
  • Demonstrated experience developing, configuring, maintaining, enhancing, troubleshooting, and testing Appian applications.
  • Experience translating business requirements and user stories into functional technical solutions.
  • Knowledge of application development lifecycles, testing practices, release management, and production support.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary Agile delivery team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting the U.S. Department of Education or another Federal civilian agency.
  • Experience with Appian integrations, APIs, relational databases, SQL, and web services.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and source or configuration management tools.
  • Knowledge of Federal security standards, Section 508 accessibility requirements, and records or data-privacy requirements.
  • Experience working in cloud-hosted or FedRAMP-authorized environments.

Work Authorization and Other Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to satisfy all contract-specific background investigation, suitability, and security requirements.
  • Employment is contingent upon contract award, Government approval of key personnel, and successful completion of applicable pre-employment requirements.

Compensation: $110,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
