Position Summary
The API / Integrations Lead owns the design, development, and operational support of enterprise APIs and integration services. This is a hands-on technical leadership role - building scalable, secure, and reliable APIs while coordinating offshore delivery teams and collaborating with application, cloud, security, DevOps, and business stakeholders.

What will your job entail?

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead design and development of RESTful APIs and integration services.
  • Own API specifications (Open API/Swagger) and enforce standards across teams.
  • Provide technical leadership, code reviews, and mentoring to offshore developers.
  • Configure and manage the API platform (Azure API Management) security policies, traffic management, versioning.
  • Integrate APIs with backend systems, cloud services, and third-party platforms.
  • Drive CI/CD automation and DevOps practices.
  • Serve as the onshore escalation point for production incidents and root-cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to deliver production-ready solutions.


Required Qualifications

Experience
  • 8+ years in software/integration engineering; 3+ years in a lead or senior API/integration role.
  • Enterprise-scale environments with production SLA ownership.
  • Leading and coordinating offshore delivery teams.

Technical Skills
  • Hands-on with .NET or Python and Azure services (Functions, API Management).
  • Strong grasp of RESTful design, API versioning, and integration patterns (event-driven, messaging).
  • Solid knowledge of OAuth2 / OpenID Connect authentication and JSON/XML data formats.
  • Experience with SQL/NoSQL backends, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tooling for distributed systems.
  • Experience integrating AI/LLM capabilities into APIs (RAG, prompt design, guardrails).
  • Experience with MCPs and other AI native technologies will be a huge plus.
  • Mandatory: hands-on experience with Claude Code, Codex or something similar.

Education

The target salary range for this position is $112,000.00 - $140,000.00 annually.

The wage range for this role considers many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, and market demands.
