Systemtec is seeking a
API Integration Developer III for a hybrid opportunity in Columbia, SC. Candidate will support enterprise-wide API and systems integration initiatives in a fast-paced technical environment. This role focuses on developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting backend integration solutions that connect internal platforms, cloud services, and external business partners.
Required Qualifications for the API Integration Developer III:- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to provide sponsorship or work with Third-Party agencies.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience combinations will also be considered
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in application development, systems integration, or related IT disciplines
- Strong experience developing and supporting RESTful and SOAP APIs
- Proficiency with JavaScript and backend integration technologies
- Hands-on experience with enterprise integration platforms and service orchestration
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills
- Experience working in high-volume enterprise environments with multiple concurrent initiatives
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Must be eligible to obtain required clearance credentials and complete pre-employment screening requirements
Preferred Skills/Experience of the API Integration Developer III:- Experience with IBM DataPower, IBM API Connect, AWS API Gateway, or Kong
- Familiarity with Red Hat OpenShift and container-based environments
- Experience with Node.js and Java-based backend services
- Knowledge of OpenAPI/Swagger standards
- Experience with CI/CD tools including GitHub Actions and Jenkins
- Familiarity with SonarQube, BlackDuck, ReadyAPI, and Artifactory
- Experience with MQ, XML transformations, or IBM WTX/ITX
- Understanding of OAuth, mTLS, and enterprise authentication technologies
- Experience using Splunk, MongoDB, or similar enterprise tools
Responsibilities of the API Integration Developer III:- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise API and integration solutions
- Support REST and SOAP services across cloud and on-premises platforms
- Troubleshoot routing, transformation, authentication, and connectivity issues
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable integration capabilities
- Participate in testing, deployments, monitoring, and ongoing operational support
- Contribute to modernization and continuous improvement initiatives within the integration environment
Work Location: Hybrid work arrangement with onsite presence required Tuesday through Thursday and additional onsite support as needed in Columbia, SC.
