ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:McDougall Energy is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated
Analytics Engineer to join our Business Analytics & Reporting team. Reporting to the Manager, Business Analytics and Reporting, this role is responsible for building and supporting end-to-end analytics solutions, from data integration and modeling to dashboard development and reporting, helping drive consistent, data-informed decisions across the organization.

Responsibilities Include:- Designing Medallion architecture layers, particularly Gold layer development
- Building and maintaining curated analytical datasets
- Creating dimensional models, fact/dimension tables and data marts
- Writing and optimizing SQL views
- Establishing reusable datasets that can feed Tableau and other Business Intelligence tools
- Creating consistent definitions for metrics and business logic
- Data quality testing and validation
- Creating documentation and data lineage
- Working with Business Analysts and business stakeholders to translate requirements into data structures
- Preparing the organization for future front-end/visualization technologies
- Key contributor in the establishment of a centralized reporting framework
ABOUT YOU: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems or Business
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance would be considered an asset
- Five (5) to ten (10) years' proven experience working within analytics
- Experience working with Tableau, advanced SQL, data modelling, DBT and cloud data platforms
- Strong proficiency working with Microsoft Office; specifically in Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; both verbal and written
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment
- Demonstrated ability to manage in a fast-paced environment with ability to manage a high volume of data; with strong attention to detail
- Excellent time management and organization skills; ability to effectively prioritize and committed to deadlines
- Experience working with a large ERP system is an asset
- Ability to regularly work within our Sault Ste Marie, ON Head Office
