Full Job Description
Analysts, Reporting & Analytics is located in Overland Park, KS will create data analytics tools and workflows to meet needs of tax department. • Telecommuting is permitted, but applicant must work from the worksite location at least 3-4 days per week. Less than 5% domestic travel required. Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Participate in the design and implementation of new ERP system to ensure it meets tax department needs. • Prepares federal and state income/franchise tax returns and supporting workpapers. • Gather and document data requirements for tax function. • Use reporting & analytic tools, applications, queries, or other data sources to support tax forecasting process. • Perform modifications and enhancements on existing processes based on evolving business and regulatory requirements. • Validate and test outputs to ensure accuracy and quality. • Provide support and training to end-users for analytic tools & enhanced processes. • Gather simple to moderately complex data inputs from multiple sources. Run routine data queries from reporting tools, ensuring integrity of data and reporting. • Partner with stakeholders inside and outside the tax department on the development and production of a wide range of data analytics tools that work to enhance efficiency. Ensure delivery meets agreed upon requirements. • Assist with analysis, design, & testing of various enhancements & changes to reports or data sources. • Support tax team with reporting, analysis, and ad hoc reporting as needed. • Prepares documentation to support compliance with SOX 404 controls and procedures. Minimum requirements: Experience and education requirements: PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Business, Finance, Information Management, Accounting, or related, and 3 years of relevant work experience in any occupation in which the required experience is gained. ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Business, Finance, Information Management, Accounting, or related, and 1 year of relevant work experience in any occupation in which the required experience is gained. Skills requirements: Requires experience in each of the following: 1.Microsoft Excel, including automation using macros for data analysis and reporting, data visualization and advanced, high-level formulas such as INDEX/MATCH, XLOOKUP and nested IF statements. Microsoft Word and PowerPoint for documenting insights and presenting data-driven recommendations with clarity. Managing project timelines and communications through Microsoft Outlook to ensure timely and accurate delivery of reporting solutions. 2. ONESOURCE Tax Provision (OTP), ONESOURCE Income Tax (OIT), Bloomberg Tax Research, and RIA Checkpoint to support end-to-end tax compliance and provision processes, including data preparation, tax calculations, deferred tax reconciliations, provision reporting, and technical tax research to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance. 3. Preparing reconciliations and running reports in SAP GUI or Oracle ERP Cloud to deliver actionable insights for tax-related decision-making. Applying filters, variants, and layout settings to generate targeted reports for business analysis. Exporting SAP or Oracle reports to Excel and integrating results into dashboards and presentations for internal departments. 4. Leveraging Denodo's data virtualization platform to access, integrate, and analyze data from diverse sources using SQL, optimizing queries and delivering clean, unified datasets for reporting, dashboarding, and advanced analytics. Managing and analyzing historical invoice data by connecting to multiple data sources, applying time-based filters and calculated fields, and recording insights from Tableau dashboards and vendor invoice management solutions to support financial analysis and strategic decision-making. 5. Using Alteryx Designer to integrate and prepare data from multiple sources for tax reporting, leveraging tools like Input, Join, and Union to ensure seamless data consolidation. Applying Data Cleansing, Formula, and Select tools to standardize formats, perform tax calculations, and enhance data quality. Building automated workflows using Summarize, Filter, and Output tools to generate accurate, jurisdiction-specific tax reports and support compliance analysis. 6. Maintaining centralized data storage using Microsoft Dataverse and SharePoint to automate workflows, improve tax data accuracy, and enhance departmental efficiency. Using Microsoft Dataverse to streamline tax processes and reduce manual entry, with working knowledge of Excel to support reporting and collaboration. Using Power Apps to visualize tax data and support decision-making.
