Overview

We are looking for a Senior Canadian Tax Analyst responsible for tax provisions, tax compliance and continuous improvement initiatives within a complex IFRS environment.

Responsibilities

When your actions lead to success:
  • Prepare income tax provisions and tax note disclosures for Canadian legal entities and the consolidated group;
  • Participate in the full Canadian corporate income tax return preparation process;
  • Prepare reconciliations between tax provisions and prior-year income tax returns ("true-ups");
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS standards and Regulation 52-109;
  • Actively participate in the continuous improvement and automation of tax processes to enhance operational performance and support the evolution of the tax function;
  • Support the identification and implementation of tax optimization opportunities;
  • Participate in special projects, including reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions;
  • Respond to ad hoc tax-related requests.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting;
  • CPA designation required;
  • Minimum of 3 to 4 years of experience in tax compliance and tax accounting;
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian corporate tax legislation;
  • Tax education: CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course (formerly CICA In-Depth Tax Course) or a Graduate Diploma in Taxation;
  • Proficiency with common computer applications, including Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills;
  • Knowledge of Taxprep;
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft and Longview is considered an asset;
  • Bilingualism: French and English.
