What You'll Be Doing

CIBC Capital Markets provides integrated capital markets products, investment banking advisory services, corporate lending, and top-ranked research to corporate, government, institutional, and retail clients around the world. Within this business, the Sports & Entertainment Group delivers strategic and financing solutions across the global ecosystem, including professional sports teams and leagues, venues and stadiums, sports-related businesses, and institutional and private investors. As an Analyst, Global Investment Banking, you'll work closely with Managing Directors, Executive Directors, Directors, Associates, and other Analysts to help grow CIBC's presence across sports, media, entertainment, infrastructure, and related sectors. You'll support live transactions and advisory mandates through financial modelling, market research, structuring analysis, and presentation development. In this lean and entrepreneurial team, you'll gain meaningful exposure and progressive on-the-job learning while contributing to high-impact client work.

How You'll Succeed

• Financial analysis and modelling - Build detailed financial models, develop assumptions and methodologies, and prepare analysis to support client financing needs, transaction opportunities, and advisory assignments.
• Client and deal support - Assist senior team members with the execution of live mandates by preparing materials, conducting analysis, and supporting transaction workflows from early-stage evaluation through execution.
• Research and insights - Conduct industry, company, and comparative analysis to help the team assess opportunities and stay informed on developments across sports, media, entertainment, infrastructure, and related sectors.
• Presentation development - Prepare client proposals, pitch materials, and presentation content in partnership with Associates, Directors, Executive Directors, and Managing Directors.
• Cross-functional collaboration - Work with partners across CIBC to support reviews, proposals, and financing solutions tailored to client needs.

Who You Are

• 1-3 years of relevant experience in investment banking, corporate finance, capital markets, transaction advisory, or a related financial analysis environment.
• You have strong technical and analytical skills. You bring a solid foundation in financial modelling, valuation techniques, financial statement analysis, credit analysis, and accounting principles.
• You're highly motivated and adaptable. You take ownership of your work, manage competing priorities effectively, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.
• You communicate with clarity and professionalism. You can present complex information clearly through strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• You're organized and detail focused. You manage multiple projects with care, maintain accuracy under tight timelines, and follow through on deliverables.
• You bring strong digital proficiency. You have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, and can quickly learn new industry tools and platforms.
• You're interested in the sector. Prior experience in, or demonstrated interest in, the business and economics of sports, media, entertainment, infrastructure, and related sectors is considered an asset.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $115,000-$135,000 for the New York, NY market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit's incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. Additional total compensation and benefits details will be provided during the hiring process.
