Analyst, Lease Located: Houston The Mid-Level Midstream Lease Analyst holds independent responsibility for the lifecycle administration of complex right-of-way (ROW) agreements, surface leases, and facility contracts. Operating with minimal supervision, this professional ensures contract compliance, manages financial obligations, and serves as the primary data owner within our land management systems to protect pipeline asset integrity. General Description Duties & Responsibilities • Abstract and input data: Extract critical clauses, financial terms, and obligations from rights-of-way, surface leases, interconnect contracts, and purchase agreements into land software. • Maintain database integrity: Oversee records systems to ensure accurate tracking of company holdings, pipeline ownership percentages, and operational tracts. • Review title records: Analyze title opinions, deeds, assignments, and curative documentation to verify current ownership and proper chain of title along pipeline corridors. • Manage payment schedules: Generate monthly payment calendars to process rentals, right-of-way renewals, damage claims, and special option payments on time. • Daily payment approvals: Review daily acquisition packages to ensure contract accuracy and completeness, verify title, and approve the associated compensation. • Review expense claims: Reconcile landowner invoices, surface damage fees, and consumer price index (CPI) rent escalations against contract stipulations. • Monitor expirations: Track expiring easements and temporary workspace agreements to prevent operational disruptions or costly legal oversights. • Execute payment cycles: Independently manage, verify, and process recurring rentals, lease renewals, CPI escalations, and damage claims within Quorum. • Track contract expirations: Monitor critical dates, expiration timelines, and option windows to proactively notify landmen of necessary field actions. • Resolve title discrepancies: Analyze complex title opinions, deeds, and corporate assignments to resolve ownership gaps along the pipeline corridor. • Support cross-functional teams: Coordinate daily with the Land, Accounting, Legal, Records, and Commercial divisions to support infrastructure acquisitions and policy compliance. • Create customized reports on pipeline asset status, active obligations, and regulatory compliance metrics for management review Qualifications Required experience • Contract Literacy: Deep understanding of land management documents, surface leases, easements, and state-specific oil and gas regulations. • Data Proficiency: Advanced skills in industry-standard land management databases such as Quorum (QLS), BOLO, or SAP. • Analytical Thinking: Proven ability to calculate complex mathematical equations involving working interest, net revenue interest, and acreage prorations. • Detail Orientation: High level of precision required to review historical county records and verify multi-million-dollar asset boundaries Preferred Experience • 3 to 5+ years of direct experience in midstream land administration or oil and gas lease analysis. • Technical Skills: Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) and GIS mapping tools. Required Education • Bachelor's degree in Land Management, Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Licensing & Certifications • Certifications (Plus): Active RL, RPL, or CPL designation through the AAPL, or RWP/SRWA certification through the IRWA
