What You'll Be Doing

As a key member of CIBC's Structured Solutions team, you will support the origination, distribution, and relationship management of structured finance solutions across a diverse portfolio of U.S. sponsor clients. Working across multiple products and client segments, you will help drive business growth, deepen client relationships, and advance CIBC's strategic objectives within Global Markets.

In this sales and origination role, you will support the growth of CIBC's Structured Solutions business by originating, structuring, and executing complex financing transactions across private credit, private equity, securitization, margin lending, and fund finance products for strategic U.S. sponsor clients. You will help manage and deepen client relationships while supporting the distribution of structured finance solutions and coordinating with trading desks throughout the transaction approval, execution, and risk management process.

Working closely with partners across Trading, Credit, Treasury, Legal, Operations, and Onboarding, you will facilitate the seamless execution of transactions from origination through closing. You will contribute to business development efforts through client engagement, idea generation, market intelligence, and the delivery of tailored financing solutions. In addition, you will support the continuous enhancement of sales processes and operating practices, helping drive efficiency and scalability across the Structured Solutions platform.

Success in this role requires strong commercial acumen, transaction execution capabilities, relationship management skills, and a collaborative mindset. Through ongoing learning, market engagement, and partnership with internal and external stakeholders, you will play a key role in advancing CIBC's structured finance franchise and delivering value to clients.

How You'll Succeed
  • Sales Origination & Client Coverage - Support the origination and development of structured finance opportunities across private credit, private equity, securitization, margin lending, and fund finance solutions for U.S. sponsor clients.
  • Transaction Execution & Lifecycle Management - Contribute to the end-to-end execution of transactions, including client engagement, structuring, internal approvals, negotiation, documentation, closing, and ongoing portfolio management, while ensuring adherence to CIBC's risk management framework.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership - Collaborate closely with Trading, Credit, Treasury, Legal, Operations, Onboarding, and other sales teams to deliver tailored financing solutions that address client objectives and support broader business priorities.
  • Platform Execution - Partner across Capital Markets to leverage the firm's product capabilities, facilitate seamless transaction execution, and deliver a coordinated client experience.
  • Market Intelligence - Provide clients with relevant market insights, product expertise, and financing solutions that support informed decision-making and strengthen long-term relationships.
  • Team Development - Contribute to the continuous improvement of sales processes, execution practices, and knowledge-sharing initiatives to enhance the efficiency, scalability, and overall effectiveness of the Structured Solutions platform.


Who You Are
  • Education - Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Commerce, Accounting, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Capital Markets / Product Expertise - Proven experience in a sales, origination, or execution role within Capital Markets, with exposure to structured finance products including private credit, private equity, securitization, margin lending, and fund finance solutions.
  • Technical & Analytical Capabilities - Strong technical proficiency across Bloomberg, Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), Salesforce, and related analytical tools. Demonstrates rigorous attention to detail, sound analytical judgment, and the ability to translate complex information into actionable insights.
  • Relationship Management Skills - Effective at building and maintaining strong client and internal stakeholder relationships, with the ability to navigate dynamic environments and support business development initiatives.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $135,000 for the New York, NY market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit's incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
