You will perform general ledger accounting, reconciliations, month-end close activities, statutory reporting support, and audit-related responsibilities while contributing to strong financial controls and reporting processes.
As part of our team, you will- Perform general ledger accounting activities including accounts receivable, billing, invoicing, intercompany accounting, payroll entries, and related journal entries.
- Complete site royalty calculations and payments.
- Perform bank account and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support treasury and cash accounting activities.
- Assist with month-end close processes and financial reporting.
- Support internal and external audit requirements.
- Execute and maintain SOX controls and compliance activities.
- Assist with statutory and local reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within accounting processes.
Prerequisites for your success in this role- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Experience supporting accounting close activities and financial reporting.
- Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS.
- Understanding of internal controls and audit compliance requirements.
- Experience with accounting systems and ERP platforms.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment.
- Mining or extractive industry experience is preferred.
- Experience with SAP and BPC is preferred.
Your work environment- This role operates within Newmont's Finance function and works closely with accounting and finance professionals to deliver accurate financial reporting and compliance activities. The position is primarily focused on financial accounting support, reconciliations, reporting, controls, and audit readiness while contributing to a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- The preferred location for candidates is near our corporate headquarters, in Denver, Colorado; however highly qualified candidates near our regional offices, or any of our site locations, will be considered.
- The listed salary range applies to positions based in Colorado. Compensation may vary for candidates hired in other locations.
- Collaboration and interaction are expected with teams across the global, regional, and site organization as well as across other service and operational areas of Newmont across multiple time zones.
The salary range offered for this role is USD $86,500.00 - 115,300.00. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company's performance and their own individual performance.
