OverviewThe
Amphib Diesel Main Propulsion and Control Systems Subject Matter Expert (SME) supports
Commander, Naval Surface Forces, Pacific Fleet (CNSP) as part of the
Readiness Assistance Training Team (RATT). The RATT provides direct, Sailor-centric training and technical assistance to surface ships to improve technical proficiency, material condition, organic repair capability, and overall readiness.
The Amphib Diesel Main Propulsion and Control Systems SME provides expert-level technical guidance and hands-on support for shipboard diesel propulsion plants, generators, control systems, and associated auxiliary equipment. Working directly with shipboard personnel, the SME helps strengthen technical knowledge, troubleshoot propulsion and control system issues, improve operations and maintenance practices, and enhance overall material and operational readiness.
LocationSan Diego, CA, with extensive travel in support of shipboard RATT visits throughout CONUS and OCONUS locations.
Requirements
Required Qualifications- Minimum 15 years of supervisory-level watchstanding experience aboard warships or military auxiliaries with diesel engine main propulsion
- Experience serving as an Engineering Officer of the Watch (EOOW), Propulsion Plant Watch Officer, Chief Engineer, or equivalent position responsible for overall propulsion plant operations and associated auxiliary systems
- Direct operational and maintenance experience within the last five years with U.S. Navy systems including:
- Diesel main propulsion systems
- Diesel generators
- Associated control systems
- Associated auxiliary systems
- Ability and willingness to support extensive CONUS and OCONUS travel for shipboard RATT visits
Security Clearance- Must possess and maintain a SECRET clearance
