Job Description and Responsibilities

This full-time, on-site opportunity is for an American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter supporting students at a school in Centennial, CO.

The ASL Interpreter will facilitate communication for students in educational settings, provide interpreting services throughout the school day, and work collaboratively with teachers, service providers, and other members of the educational team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with a commitment to helping students with diverse learning needs succeed.

Position Highlights

  • Full-time school-based opportunity with a 37.5-hour weekly schedule
  • 2026-2027 school year (August 2026 through May 2027)
  • In-person position serving students across Kindergarten through 12th grade
  • Provide services at 2-5 school sites within the district, depending on assignment needs
  • Deliver high-quality student services while collaborating with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Participate in evaluations, progress monitoring, educational planning, and other assigned responsibilities
  • Guaranteed paid hours include direct services, documentation, report writing, planning, meetings, and administrative responsibilities
  • Receive ongoing collaboration and professional support from both the partnering school district and the TheraPeds Partners team
  • Enjoy manageable caseloads designed to support quality student outcomes and work-life balance
  • Competitive compensation of $50-$60+ per hour, with estimated weekly earnings of approximately $1,875-$2,250+ based on a 37.5-hour schedule

Requirements

  • American Sign Language Interpretation Certification
  • EIPA score (3.5+)
  • Passing written test
  • Documentation submitted to CDE
  • Fluency in ASL and English
  • Schools expect strong receptive and expressive ASL skills and the ability to interpret classroom instruction and student interactions accurately.
  • RID certification (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf)
  • Associate or bachelor's degree, preferred
  • Interpreter Training Program (ITP) or ASL-English interpreting degree
  • Experience interpreting in K-12 classrooms
  • Knowledge of IDEA and IEP processes
  • Background check and fingerprinting
  • Ability to support students throughout the school day
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise a high level of tact and discretion in both internal and external communications


Physical Requirements

Working and playing with students requires that employees must be able to perform the necessary physical movement functions, as needed, such as lifting, sitting, walking, standing, crawling, and engaging with students in all physical locations and activities, while adhering to the duties outlined by the district.
