Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Manager of Technical Sales to lead a team of Technical Sales Specialists supporting our Regional and Territory business for Manufacurting. The Technical Sales team partners with Sales to translate customer business challenges into technical solutions that drive measurable outcomes. In this role, you will lead a high-performing team focused on scalable, repeatable technical engagements that accelerate deal velocity across a high volume of opportunities. You will be responsible for developing talent, driving technical sales execution, and establishing a consistent operating model that enables success across a broad and varied customer base.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Technical Sales supporting volume and strategic accounts
  • Provide ongoing feedback, mentoring, and career development to drive individual and team performance
  • Foster a high-performance, collaborative team culture focused on accountability and continuous improvement
  • Recruit, onboard, and retain top technical sales talent
  • Partner with Sales leadership to execute regional technical sales strategy across a high volume of opportunities
  • Ensure the team effectively supports pipeline development, deal progression, and technical closure
  • Participate in forecast calls, account reviews, and business planning activities
  • Guide the team in prioritizing efforts to balance deal velocity with technical depth
  • Establish best practices for discovery, demonstrations, and technical validation in a volume sales motion
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality customer engagements across industries and use cases
  • Coach the team to translate diverse customer needs into scalable, outcome-driven solutions
  • Drive adoption of standard demos, assets, and playbooks to improve efficiency and impact
  • Build and optimize a scalable technical sales operating model aligned to a volume business
  • Implement tools, processes, and metrics to improve productivity and consistency
  • Enable the team to manage multiple concurrent opportunities effectively
  • Balance standardization with flexibility to support a wide range of customer scenarios
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Product, Customer Success, Resellers and other internal functions to align on priorities and execution
  • Act as a voice of the field by providing feedback on product gaps, competitive insights, and customer needs
  • Drive alignment across teams to support key business initiatives and customer success


Minimum Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in technical sales, sales engineering, or solution consulting
  • Proven success in high-volume / mid-market / SMB sales environments
  • Strong understanding of sales processes, pipeline management, and deal progression
  • Excellent coaching, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
  • Travel 50%+ (including flights and international at times)


The Ideal Candidate
  • 2+ years of experience in people management or team leadership
  • Experienced leader who can scale teams and drive consistent sales motions, accountability, and results
  • Strong balance of technical acumen and business/sales mindset
  • Comfortable operating across multiple industries and customer segments
  • Data-driven and operationally strong, with a focus on efficiency and impact
  • Effective at influencing without authority and aligning diverse stakeholders
  • Experience in SaaS, cloud, or platform-based solutions

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based sales roles, we expect a starting On-Target Earnings (OTE) between $174,700 and $313,170. OTE is comprised of base salary plus commission target for sales roles. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
