AMER Benefits & Payroll Manager (Lonza - Capsugel)

Location: The preferred candidate will be based in Morristown, NJ or Tampa, FL, with the ability to work from one of the Lonza-Capsugel office locations.

What will you do:

We are seeking a Benefits & Payroll Manager to oversee employee benefits programs across the Americas while supporting payroll-related processes and compliance activities. This role will partner with HR, Payroll, Finance, Legal, and external vendors to deliver competitive benefit programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive an effective employee experience during a period of organizational transformation.
  • Manage the administration and governance of health and welfare, retirement, wellness, disability, life insurance, and voluntary benefit programs
  • Lead annual benefits renewals and open enrollment activities, including planning, employee communications, vendor coordination, and implementation
  • Partner with brokers, consultants, and third-party administrators to ensure effective service delivery and program performance
  • Monitor benefits costs, utilization trends, and market benchmarks, providing recommendations to support competitive and cost-effective programs
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, and retirement plan requirements
  • Collaborate with Payroll and HR teams to support benefit-related payroll processes, system updates, audits, and data accuracy
  • Support benefits and payroll integration activities related to divestitures, transition service agreements (TSAs), or other business transformation initiatives
  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, compliance, and the overall employee experience


What we are looking for:
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in benefits administration, payroll, total rewards, HR operations, or a related area
  • Experience managing health and welfare, retirement, disability, and leave of absence programs
  • Working knowledge of benefits regulations and compliance requirements, including ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and FMLA
  • Experience working with HRIS, payroll, and benefits administration systems, such as Workday or similar platforms
  • Strong vendor management, project management, and organizational skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple stakeholders
  • Experience supporting benefits during divestitures, or TSA environments preferred
