Full Job Description
AI Governance Program Manager to lead the evolution of enterprise AI policy, governance, and operational frameworks within a highly visible financial services environment. This leadership role will serve as a key bridge between AI innovation and risk management, partnering with executive leadership, Information Security, Legal, IT, business stakeholders, and auditors to ensure responsible AI adoption across the organization.

This position is based in McLean, VA and requires onsite presence three days per week.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of enterprise AI governance policies, standards, and operating procedures.
  • Partner with AI Enablement teams to support the responsible transition of AI proofs of concept, prototypes, and emerging use cases into operational frameworks.
  • Collaborate with Information Security, Legal, Compliance, IT, and business leaders to ensure AI initiatives align with regulatory and organizational requirements.
  • Establish governance structures, controls, and oversight mechanisms supporting first-line and second-line risk management functions.
  • Interface with internal and external auditors to address AI compliance, controls, documentation, and audit readiness activities.
  • Influence executive stakeholders and business leaders to drive adoption of AI governance practices and responsible AI usage.
  • Provide strategic guidance on AI risk, policy updates, industry trends, and emerging regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in technology governance, risk management, compliance, IT management, AI governance, or a related leadership function.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing enterprise policies, frameworks, and governance processes.
  • Strong understanding of AI technologies, conversational AI, machine learning, or emerging AI platforms.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Information Security, Legal, Compliance, Audit, and Technology organizations.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership teams and influence decision-making across complex organizations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport, navigate competing priorities, and drive organizational change.
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
Preferred Experience
  • Financial services, banking, credit union, or highly regulated industry experience.
  • Exposure to AI Enablement, AI Centers of Excellence, or responsible AI programs.
  • Experience supporting AI governance frameworks, model governance, or technology risk initiatives.
  • Familiarity with regulatory expectations surrounding AI adoption and emerging governance requirements.
Compensation
  • Target FTE Salary: $200,000 - $225,000 annually
  • Annual Bonus: 15% target bonus
  • Comprehensive benefits package available upon conversion to full-time employment
