About This OpportunityJoin a team building AI capabilities that power next-generation telecommunications solutions. Based in Austin, Texas, the AI Model Developer (JS5/JS6) works alongside researchers, software engineers, data scientists, and product teams to design, evaluate, optimize, and deploy advanced machine learning models. This is a hands-on technical role for an experienced professional with approximately 6+ years of industry experience who enjoys solving complex AI challenges and collaborating across disciplines.
What you will do- Design, develop, and optimize Transformer-based and other deep learning models
- Evaluate emerging AI architectures and recommend evidence-based improvements
- Build and maintain reference implementations using PyTorch or JAX
- Develop reproducible experiments and benchmark model accuracy, latency, and resource utilization
- Fine-tune foundation models for telecommunications and enterprise use cases
- Work with data scientists to prepare datasets and evaluation pipelines
- Partner with software engineering teams to integrate models into production environments
- Identify performance bottlenecks and recommend optimization strategies
- Document model designs, assumptions, and validation results clearly
- Support the growth of junior team members and contribute to shared engineering best practices
The skills you bringRequired:- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, AI, Machine Learning, or a related field
- 6+ years of industry experience developing machine learning or AI solutions
- Solid experience with PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow
- Strong understanding of Transformer architectures, attention mechanisms, embeddings, and LLM fundamentals
- Proficiency in Python and modern ML development workflows
- Familiarity with model evaluation, experimentation, and performance analysis
- Experience with Git and collaborative software development practices
- Clear communication skills and ability to work effectively across teams
Preferred:- Experience with Generative AI and Large Language Models
- Background applying AI to wireless communications, networking, or telecommunications
- Familiarity with Hugging Face, ONNX, MLFlow, Ray, or similar ML tooling
- Experience with distributed training or inference optimization
- Knowledge of MLOps and CI/CD practices for AI systems

Your TimeYour work-life balance is important to us. New employees are provided a minimum of 15 days of accrued vacation, up to 3 personal days per year, 11 annual holidays, 8 hours of volunteer time, and 80 hours of sick time annually. Please note paid time off is pro-rated based on the employee's start date.
