Full Job Description
Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Aftermarket Sales Manager is responsible for the Aftermarket Sales Department, to ensure customer satisfaction with the services provided through Parts and Service. The Aftermarket Sales Manager will establish department goals, personnel development, financial performance, and the day-to-day function of the sales staff calling on the customer base. Design and/or review and implement sales policies and programs. The following roles report to this position: Aftermarket Sales Representative.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

  • Develop business plans for the department and department personnel. Observe and direct the personnel in the department to meet and exceed these plans.
  • Assist in time management, territory management, and account management daily with employees reporting to this position.
  • Review Accounts Receivable, ensuring payment for the parts and services provided. Sales of certain products available through other departments could be included, but only as it pertains to the promotion of parts and service.
  • Making calls, riding with department personnel to make observations and provide direction is a daily occurrence.
  • Plan, conduct and participate in sales meetings.
  • Plan account strategy with department employees individually or with other managers.
  • Confer with Parts and Service Manager(s) and factory personnel as necessary. Coordinate activities among other managers, insuring good communications with other personnel and departments.
  • Review and approve quotations, service contracts, parts consignments and other sales related functions as required.
  • Maintain direct contact with current Branch and National Accounts at their locations. Guide and direct personnel in customer service in these key accounts, complex situations, irate customer, or other extraordinary situations.
  • May maintain primary relationship with selected accounts.
  • May design and/or oversee the implementation of a program for specific customer(s).
  • Select, train, develop, and counsel direct reports.
  • Travel on sales calls with salespeople to discuss approaches and performance.
  • Conduct training on products and techniques with individuals and groups.
  • Direct or participate in any complex personnel situation, including termination with the assistance of Human Resources.
  • May develop and/or oversee marketing and promotional programs such as mailings and sales contests.
  • Prepare budget for Branch Manager and revise as necessary.
  • Track financial performance, identify variances, and take appropriate actions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


KNOW HOW & EXPERIENCE

    • A four-year university degree is preferred for this position; a college diploma or university degree in Business Administration or a related field is considered an asset.
    • A valid driver's license is required.
    • Five to ten years of sales experience.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong customer relationship management abilities.
    • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with strong organizational and planning abilities.
    • Proficiency in both English and French, spoken and written, to effectively communicate with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
