Full Job Description
About the Role

Audit and assurance are entering a new era.

Advances in AI are transforming how firms prepare for engagements, evaluate evidence, and deliver assurance. Many of the workflows that have defined the profession for decades are being rebuilt from the ground up.

At Fieldguide, we're building the AI-native platform that powers modern audit and advisory firms. Our platform combines workflow, collaboration, and AI agents to help firms operate more efficiently while maintaining the rigor and quality the profession requires.

As Advisory SME, AI Agents, you'll join a small, specialized team working at the intersection of risk advisory expertise, product development, and AI. While you won't be performing engagements for clients in this role, you will work closely with risk advisory professionals and Fieldguide's engineering team to design and build the next generation of advisory workflows.

This role is ideal for someone who understands how risk advisory engagements work today but is excited to rethink how they should work in an AI-driven future.

Location: San Francisco (in-person)

What You'll Do
  • Help design the AI-powered workflows that will define the future of risk advisory and assurance.
  • Partner closely with engineering, product, and design teams to translate real-world risk advisory processes into scalable product capabilities.
  • Work directly with advisory firms using Fieldguide to understand their workflows, pain points, and opportunities for automation.
  • Identify edge cases, controls, and quality requirements to ensure the product meets the standards required for professional services workflows.
  • Collaborate with our ML team to develop AI agent capabilities that assist with tasks such as evidence collection, control testing, and report generation.
  • Help rethink long-standing risk advisory processes and shape how AI can augment professional judgment.

Who You Are
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • CPA, CISA, CISSP, or equivalent professional certification.
  • 4-10 years of experience in risk advisory at a leading public accounting or advisory firm.
  • Experience at the Manager level or above is strongly preferred.
  • Experience conducting SOC 2 examinations, cybersecurity risk assessments, or related risk advisory engagements end-to-end.
  • Strong understanding of common security and privacy frameworks, including SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST CSF, CCPA, and GDPR.
  • Experience scoping engagements, testing controls, evaluating evidence, and drafting advisory reports.
  • Familiarity with IT general controls (ITGCs) and how they relate to risk and compliance.
  • Experience working across multiple clients and industries.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high bar for accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to translate complex risk advisory concepts into clear product requirements.
  • Strong prioritization skills and the ability to focus on the highest-impact work.

Bonus Points
  • Curiosity about AI and how it will reshape risk advisory and professional services.
  • Interest in working closely with engineers to build new systems from the ground up.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous environments and building without a predefined playbook.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively across teams.
  • A deep interest in improving how risk advisory engagements are performed, not just digitizing existing workflows.
