ABOUT THE TEAM

The Advisor, Public Markets Solutions (TSO) plays a key role in supporting Public Markets trading and portfolio management activities by strengthening the accuracy, resilience, scalability and continuous improvement of operational processes across multiple asset classes. The incumbent acts as a trusted operational subject matter expert, provides advanced analytical support to investment teams, and contributes to strategic automation and platform enhancement initiatives.

ABOUT YOUR ROLE

As an Advisor, Public Markets Solutions (TSO), you'll:

  • Guide complex operational workstreams supporting equities, fixed income, foreign exchange, derivatives, securities financing and treasury activities, while determining the most effective methods to achieve business objectives
  • Oversee the end-to-end trade lifecycle and coordinate the timely resolution of material exceptions, operational incidents, settlement breaks and control deficiencies across multiple stakeholders
  • Provide functional and technical expertise to Portfolio Managers, Traders and Investment Operations teams regarding transaction workflows, position management and operational controls
  • Analyze complex operational issues, identify root causes, adapt methodologies and recommend sustainable solutions that improve efficiency, scalability, data quality and risk mitigation
  • Design, develop and maintain reporting solutions, dashboards and analytical tools using SQL, Python, Power BI and Excel to support operational transparency and decision-making
  • Coordinate automation initiatives and operational platform enhancements, including requirements gathering, business analysis, testing, implementation and post-deployment reviews
  • Assess the effectiveness of operational controls, reconciliations and monitoring processes, and recommend enhancements that strengthen process integrity and operational risk management
  • Influence decisions and build consensus among operational, technology and investment stakeholders through fact-based recommendations and sound judgment
  • Act as a key resource for TSO processes by developing documentation, establishing standards and sharing knowledge with less experienced team members
  • Support regulatory, audit and compliance activities by maintaining robust controls, preparing documentation and ensuring timely remediation of identified issues


WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related discipline
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in capital markets operations, trade support, investment operations or a related field
  • Strong understanding of capital markets instruments including equities, fixed income, foreign exchange, derivatives, repos and securities lending
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong SQL proficiency
  • Experience using Python for scripting, analytics and automation initiatives
  • Experience with Power BI, Bloomberg and investment management platforms
  • Strong knowledge of operational controls, trade lifecycle management, reconciliation processes and incident management
  • CFA, FRM or equivalent professional designation is considered an asset
  • Bilingualism: English and French (frequent interactions in English with PSP employees based in our offices in Hong Kong, London and New York, and interactions in French with employees in our local offices in Montreal and Ottawa)
