The Global Facilities Delivery (GFD) Organization, part of Corporate Engineering, delivers new and renovated capital assets around the world. Our mission is accomplished through a highly leveraged organization of design, construction and qualification contractors.

Many of the assets delivered focus on manufacturing of medical innovations and delivering innovative solutions to patients. Some of the assets delivered support an expansion in supply of existing medicines.

Role Summary

The Advisor, Project Information Management & Document Control serves as the enterprise process owner for project information management, document control, and information governance within Global Facilities Delivery (GFD). The role establishes and governs the standards, processes, systems, and digital delivery requirements used to manage project information across the capital project lifecycle. The Advisor provides strategic leadership for information governance, project information systems, and digital delivery practices, ensuring information quality, consistency, traceability, compliance, and operational readiness across the global portfolio while driving continuous improvement and capability development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the enterprise Process Owner for Project Information Management and Document Control, defining governance, standards, procedures, and performance expectations across the global capital project portfolio.
  • Own and continuously improve Project Information Management processes governing project documentation, records management, metadata, information lifecycle management, retention requirements, and digital handover.
  • Author, maintain, and govern enterprise standards, SOPs, Project Delivery Work Instructions (PDWIs), templates, workflows, and guidance documents supporting consistent information management practices across all projects.
  • Establish and govern Owner Information Requirements (OIRs), Common Data Environment (CDE) standards, metadata structures, naming conventions, document classifications, and approval workflows to create a consistent digital ecosystem across internal and external delivery partners.
  • Provide governance, assurance, and compliance oversight of Project Information Management practices, conducting assessments, audits, performance reviews, and corrective action programs to ensure adherence to enterprise requirements.
  • Serve as business owner for Project Information Management systems and technologies, defining enterprise requirements, governance models, integration strategies, and data stewardship across digital delivery platforms.
  • Establish standards and requirements for engineering deliverables, contractor documentation, construction records, commissioning and qualification records, turnover packages, and operational handover information throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Define information management requirements for external delivery partners, including A/E, EPCM, Construction Management, and Contractor organizations, ensuring consistent information exchange, document control, digital handover, and compliance with enterprise standards.
  • Lead capability-building initiatives for the Project Information Management and Document Control community, providing training, mentoring, guidance, and subject matter expertise to strengthen organizational capability and process adoption. This responsibility aligns with the JD's governance and enterprise ownership focus.
  • Drive continuous improvement, digital transformation, and innovation in Project Information Management, evaluating emerging technologies, advancing digital delivery strategies, and implementing improvements that enhance information quality, accessibility, traceability, and lifecycle management.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 8 years of experience in engineering, project engineering, information and document control, or similar field.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional certification in Information Management, Records Management, Project Management, or Digital Delivery (e.g., CRM, IGP, PMP, PMI-CP, AIIM, BuildingSMART, Autodesk Certified Professional).
  • Proficiency with Project Information Management and Document Control platforms such as Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Oracle Unifier, Procore, Aconex, SharePoint, and related systems.
  • Strong knowledge of information governance, document control, records management, Common Data Environments (CDEs), metadata standards, and digital handover practices.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and frameworks, including ISO 19650 and information lifecycle management principles.
  • Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills, with the ability to drive adoption of enterprise standards and digital transformation initiatives.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate's education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$130,500 - $211,200

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
