Advisor, OpEx and Joint Venture Accounting to join our Calgary based team!

In this role, you will support accounting, reporting and analysis activities for our diverse joint ventures across all Enbridge business units. You will prepare and analyze financial information to maintain accurate accounting records, meet regulatory and joint venture agreement requirements, and help advance Enbridge's financial objectives.

What You Will Do:
  • Prepare monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycles.
  • Prepare and analyze financial and regulatory reports, including income statement and balance sheet analyses, in accordance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Analyze financial results, complex accounting matters, regulatory decisions, and emerging trends, clearly communicating their impacts to stakeholders.
  • Support internal and external financial audits by preparing schedules, responding to inquiries, and maintaining effective internal controls.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Regulatory, and business stakeholders on complex deferral accounts, regulatory proceedings, supporting evidence, schedules, and interrogatory responses.
  • Contribute to special projects, system implementations, process enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining integrity, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance.


Who You Are:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Hold a CPA or equivalent professional certification.
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally involving public practice, technical accounting, external financial reporting, or regulated utilities.
  • Good understand US GAAP, regulatory compliance requirements, and the regulatory process, including the preparation of supporting evidence.
  • Experience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and accounting systems such as Oracle Cloud, HFM, SmartView, or Essbase, along with the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills, with the ability to evaluate complex accounting issues, manage competing priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with varied audiences and bring strong interpersonal, written, verbal, persuasion, and stakeholder-management skills.

  • Office environment with recurring tight deadlines.
  • Overtime is required periodically and will vary depending on reporting deadlines.
