Position Summary

The Advisor is a senior technical leader supporting Clinical Tech Design & Operations, responsible for tackling the toughest problems and shaping modern, resilient solutions that power clinical design and operational delivery across a large and fast-evolving ecosystem. At the R8 level, the Advisor owns the technical direction of initiatives in partnership with business owners to maximize value, bringing deep data and solution integration expertise to connect design and operational systems reliably at scale. Partnering tightly with Software Product Engineering, Cyber Security, and Infrastructure & Digital Core, the Advisor drives shared strategies and secure-by-design architectures, while researching and applying emerging technology-including AI and agentic engineering-to advance capability and drive adoption.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the technical direction of complex initiatives across clinical design and operations, shaping modern, resilient, secure solutions.


  • Lead data and solution integration across the ecosystem, ensuring reliable, performant connectivity between design and operational systems, data products, and services.


  • Partner tightly with Software Product Engineering, Cyber Security, and Infrastructure & Digital Core to drive aligned strategies, shared standards, and secure-by-design architectures.


  • Research and apply emerging technology-AI/ML, agentic workflows, intelligent automation-driving adoption.


  • Champion modernization and resilience, reducing technical debt and improving fault tolerance, observability, and recoverability.


  • Embed secure and AI-assisted engineering (code generation, automated testing, anomaly detection, threat-aware design) to accelerate delivery and improve operational quality.


  • Serve as a recognized expert, defining integration patterns and engineering standards adopted across design and operations teams.


  • Elevate technical colleagues by sharing data, integration, and security knowledge to broaden team impact.


  • Improve engineering processes and guide the organization through change.


  • Gain support for and influence initiatives spanning clinical design and operations, engineering, cyber, and infrastructure.


  • Provide authoritative troubleshooting leadership on complex integration, operational, and design-system challenges.


Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.


  • Extensive software/systems engineering experience delivering complex, enterprise-scale solutions with clear technical ownership.


  • Strong data and solution integration experience across large, complex, evolving ecosystems.


  • Recognized depth in one or more technologies, able to set integration standards and guide other engineers.


  • Hands-on experience applying AI in day-to-day engineering.


  • Strong proficiency across integrations, APIs, event-driven architecture, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).


  • Experience designing resilient solutions in partnership with engineering, cyber, and infrastructure teams.


  • Proven ability to solve the toughest technical problems affecting operations at scale.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional influencing skills.
  • Experience in clinical development, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), or a regulated (GxP) environment within pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare.


  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.


  • Cyber-security aware and skilled: secure-by-design principles, threat modeling, identity and access management, and zero-trust patterns.


  • Hands-on experience integrating AI/agentic capabilities into operational systems.


  • Experience driving integration and modernization strategies with software product engineering, infrastructure, and digital core teams.


  • Familiarity with clinical operations tooling and clinical data pipelines.


  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code.


  • Relevant cloud, security, or AI/ML certifications.


Actual compensation will depend on a candidate's education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$162,000 - $268,400

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
