Job DescriptionAs an Advanced APU Project Engineer here at Honeywell on the B-52 Stratofortress APU program, you will coordinate and communicate with cross-functional teams, foster collaboration and ensure effective project coordination.
You will report directly to our Sr. Program Engineering Manager and you'll work out of our Phoenix, AZ location on a hybrid work schedule. For the first 90 days, New Hires must be prepared to work 100% onsite M-F.
In this role, you will impact the company's success by ensuring the successful execution and delivery of complex engineering products, driving operational excellence, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Responsibilities• Lead design activities for the B-52 APU development program
• Work with functional experts to identify root cause and corrective actions for complex and ambiguous technical challenges
• Develop and implement project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
• Develop technical change proposals for original equipment manufacturers (OEM) customers to resolve SRDs and other technical issues
• Proactively manage and mitigate project risks to maintain project performance
• Provide technical guidance and support to project newer team members
• Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders
QualificationsYOU MUST HAVE• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline
• 3+ years of experience in project engineering or related roles
• Prior experience and technical knowledge of gas turbine engines
• Experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex engineering projects
• Experience in risk management and problem-solving to mitigate project risks and issues effectively
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
WE VALUE• Master's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline
• Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies relevant to engineering projects
• Experience with earned value management systems for military programs
• Knowledge of auxiliary power units (APU) and APU installations
