Full Job Description
Responsibilities

This role provides virtual financial services sales support to State Farm Agents, Agent Team Members, and Sales Leaders (with or without customers present) as they identify, plan, and meet customer needs.

Support includes Life, Health, and IPS products. We provide coverage to field partners across the country from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CST.

In this job you are primarily responsible for:
  • Responding appropriately to agent's inquiries from inbound or outbound calls regarding sales of financial service products in the best interest of the customer needs.
  • Assisting agents with financial product selection, forms, web-based applications, and sales tools as related to the sales process
  • Educating agents and other internal departments on financial services and related topics
  • Maintaining awareness of competitive industry trends to provide information in response to agent inquiries
  • Supplying input concerning product development and marketing decisions

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in financial services sales, brokerage firm or related field
  • Currently licensed or ability to become licensed in FINRA Series 6, 63, and 65. Or if current ChFC certification, this waives Series 65. Credit check and criminal fingerprint is required to be sponsored for licensing. Must obtain/pass all licensing exams within 12 weeks from hire date to remain in the role.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher-level education is desired.
  • An understanding of marketing systems, product lines and the agency office environment a plus.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Naturally curious with the ability to ask inquisitive questions in providing consultative assistance to Agents
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Advanced critical thinking skills
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Outlook, Teams, OneNote, Excel, and Word).

Additional Details:
  • Selected candidates will be required to possess and/or obtain (within approximately the first 10 weeks) a Securities Industries Essentials (SIE), Series 6 license, Series 63 and Series 65 or equivalent and Life/Health, Variable license.
    • Selected candidates will have a maximum of two attempts to successfully pass the required securities licensing exams
    • If unsuccessful after two attempts on any exam, employment may be terminated
  • Fingerprint, credit check and background check are required for sponsorship of FINRA licensing
  • Employees will be eligible for incentive pay once all required licenses are obtained
  • Employees must successfully obtain all other applicable licensing and certifications for role including, but not limited to, LTC Certification, Annuities Certification and potential state securities licensing, as applicable.
  • Employees may be required to sign the Acknowledgement of Policy on Personal Account Transactions
  • May be required to work flexible, non-standard hours, including weekends and holidays, based on operational needs and workload
  • May require periodic travel
  • Requirements subject to change at State Farm discretion based on a business need.


Securities Licensing
This position requires you to obtain/maintain all applicable FINRA licensing exams (Securities Industry Essentials, Series 6, Series 63, and Series 65 or equivalent), sponsorship from State Farm VP Management Corp (SFVPMC) and State Farm Investment Management Corp. (SFIMC), and that you become registered and remain in good standing as required by SFVPMC, SFIMC and FINRA. To confirm eligibility for sponsorship, you will complete fingerprinting and a credit check. This is in addition to the pre-employment background check. You will be required to obtain sponsorship and pass all applicable FINRA exam(s) within approximately the first 10 weeks after studying begins. You will be required to sign a Securities and Registration Agreement upon hire.

If unable to obtain sponsorship or pass all applicable exams for this role within approximately the first 10 weeks after studying begins you will be able to post/compete for other opportunities within State Farm for 30 days. If no additional opportunity is found and accepted, it may result in termination of employment with State Farm.

NOTE: Candidates who need to obtain Securities and other licensing will be in a non-exempt status while obtaining their licensing. The annual rate of pay will be based on a 38.75 work week at an hourly rate based on applicable annualized salary.

Hybrid Work Arrangement:
  • 8-10 in-office days per month, after training is completed
  • Office Hours: 8:15 AM - 4:30 PM Central Time, Monday - Friday
  • Must reside within reasonable commuting distance to one of the following office locations: Bloomington IL, Richardson TX, Tempe AZ. Atlanta hub is NOT an option at this time.


Incumbency:
This position will have a 12-month incumbency period beginning on the effective date of the position, which must be met before the employee can post for any other lateral State Farm position. Posting for promotional positions are not subject to this incumbency period. The incumbency period does not affect the at-will relationship between State Farm and the employee and does not create an employment contract, nor contractual rights.

  • Potential starting salary range: $66,000 - $105,000
    • Starting salary will be based on skills, background, and experience
    • High end of the range limited to applicants with significant relevant experience
