Responsibilities

Full Job Description
Basic Purpose and Objective of the Position:

The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer II is responsible for developing, implementing, optimizing, and sustaining manufacturing processes, tooling, and fixturing for new and existing products. This role supports New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and production operations by improving manufacturability, process capability, quality, safety, and operational efficiency.

The position works closely with cross-functional teams to transition products from design into production while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory, and quality requirements.

  • Develop, implement, validate, and improve manufacturing processes, tooling, fixturing, and equipment for new and existing products.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities including manufacturing process development, prototyping, process validation, and production readiness activities.
  • Participate in the NPI Stage Gate process by supporting manufacturing planning, DFM/DFA reviews, PFMEA activities, process validation, tooling development, and production ramp readiness.
  • Analyze manufacturing workflows and implement process improvements to improve safety, quality, delivery, throughput, and cost.
  • Collaborate with Mechanical Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, and Production teams to support Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and overall product quality objectives.
  • Support the development and optimization of machining, assembly, inspection, and secondary manufacturing processes for precision mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Create and maintain manufacturing documentation including work instructions, standard work, process flows, routers, PFMEAs, control plans, and inspection methods.
  • Participate in troubleshooting manufacturing and quality issues and support root cause corrective action (RCCA) and continuous improvement activities.
  • Support evaluation and implementation of manufacturing technologies, automation, tooling, and process improvements where applicable.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with safety, environmental, customer, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing waste and improving operational performance.
  • Provide day-to-day technical support to production personnel, technicians, operators, and cross-functional teams.
  • Support process capability studies, validation activities, and production ramp-up efforts for new and existing products.


Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of relevant manufacturing engineering experience supporting production, process development, or New Product Introduction (NPI) activities.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, precision machining, medical device, or other regulated manufacturing process preferred.
  • Experience supporting CNC machining, precision assembly, tooling, fixturing, inspection, or advanced manufacturing processes preferred.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing process development, process validation, root cause corrective action (RCCA), and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, PFMEA, DFM/DFA, and process optimization methodologies.
  • Experience working within AS9100, ISO9001, ISO13485, or other regulated quality management systems preferred.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T preferred.
  • Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred), manufacturing documentation, and ERP/MRP.

Salary Range: $95,000-$105,000 + bonus
