Systems Engineer

Taunton, MA

Pay Estimated: $68.12 - $73.12/Hour

Ability to Obtain a Secret Clearance

We are hiring a Systems Engineer in Taunton, MA, to support advanced hardware integration, system verification, and embedded computing platforms for mission-critical defense systems. This role requires experience with Single Board Computers (SBCs), FPGAs, GPUs, OpenVPX architectures, firmware troubleshooting, VMware, Linux, Wireshark, CMOSS, SOSA, and systems integration engineering supporting secure aerospace and defense programs.

Responsibilities:
  • Integrate advanced hardware components, including Single Board Computers (SBCs), FPGAs, GPUs, OpenVPX cards, and chassis-level assemblies, in accordance with design documentation.
  • Configure and validate system hardware, software, and firmware against functional and performance requirements.
  • Develop and execute detailed test procedures for system integration, verification, and troubleshooting.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, firmware, and network-related issues.
  • Support automated test scripting and test process improvements.
  • Use network analysis tools, including Wireshark, to troubleshoot system connectivity and performance.
  • Support virtualized environments, including VMware and Linux-based virtual devices.
  • Apply or support open architecture standards such as CMOSS and SOSA during system integration activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the systems development lifecycle.

  • Experience with systems integration, hardware integration, test development, or system verification.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more of the following: SBCs, FPGAs, GPUs, OpenVPX, chassis configuration, firmware troubleshooting, or embedded hardware systems.
  • Experience writing and executing test procedures for hardware and software validation.
  • Familiarity with test automation scripting and automated validation processes.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience using:
    • Wireshark
    • VMware
    • Linux
    • CMOSS
    • SOSA
  • Experience supporting open architecture defense systems and embedded computing environments.
  • Familiarity with network analysis and virtualized system environments.
