From: $71,200.00
To: $89,000

This role requires the successful applicant to commit to an in-office work arrangement up to 5 days a week beginning in 2027.

The WSIB is looking for an Actuarial Associate to join our team. In this role, you will help deliver reliable, accurate, and timely actuarial analysis that supports key business decisions across the organization. You will contribute to meaningful work that helps shape the workplace safety and insurance system in Ontario.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong analytical skills, actuarial knowledge, and an interest in applying data-driven insights in a public sector environment.

What You Will Do

As an Actuarial Associate, you will support a range of actuarial projects and assignments, including:

- Assisting with the development, maintenance, and enhancement of actuarial models
- Compiling, validating, and analyzing data to support actuarial calculations and reporting
- Supporting work related to premium rate setting, benefit liability valuation, financial projections, and ER programs
- Preparing analyses and reports for senior actuarial staff and management
- Participating in studies related to claims experience, mortality, termination, and occupational disease
- Supporting year-end valuations, audit requests, and reporting requirements
- Responding to information requests and helping prepare materials for internal and external stakeholders
- Working with teams across the WSIB, including Financial Reporting, Revenue, Communications, Policy, and Business Technology Services

What You Bring

Minimum Qualifications

- Post-secondary degree in Mathematics, Science, or Business
- Basic knowledge of actuarial principles
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an insurance or financial services environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Completion of 2 or more SOA/CAS exams, or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications

- Post-secondary degree in Actuarial Science
- 3 or more years of actuarial experience in insurance or financial services
- Experience with VBA, SAS, SQL, and GGY AXIS
