The Accounting Systems Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the organization's accounting and financial systems. This role serves as the liaison between Finance, Accounting, and Information Technology to ensure financial applications operate efficiently, securely, and accurately. The Accounting Systems Administrator oversees system configurations, user access, reporting, integrations, upgrades, and ongoing process improvements while supporting accounting operations and ensuring data integrity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Administer and maintain accounting and financial software applications.
- Configure and manage user accounts, security roles, permissions, and system access.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot application issues.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for accounting system support and user inquiries.
- Collaborate with Finance, IT, and external vendors to resolve technical issues and implement system enhancements.
- Coordinate software upgrades, patches, testing, and system implementations.
- Develop and maintain financial reports, dashboards, and custom queries.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting processes by ensuring system availability and data accuracy.
- Maintain chart of accounts, organizational structures, cost centers, and other financial master data.
- Oversee data imports, exports, integrations, and interface monitoring between ERP and ancillary systems.
- Create and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and internal controls.
- Train accounting staff on system functionality and new features.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve financial workflows.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and company policies.
- Assist with system implementations, ERP migrations, and special finance projects.
- Perform regular audits of user access and system security.
- Monitor data integrity and recommend corrective actions when needed.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Three to five years of experience supporting accounting or ERP systems.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and general ledger processes.
- Experience administering ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365, NetSuite, Infor, Yardi, Sage Intacct, or similar platforms.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with SQL, reporting tools, or business intelligence software is preferred.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications- CPA, CMA, or ERP system certification is a plus.
- Experience with financial system implementations or upgrades.
- Knowledge of SOX compliance, internal controls, and audit requirements.
- Familiarity with workflow automation tools and reporting platforms such as Power BI or Tableau.
Compensation: $90,000-100,000Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
