About the Role:

As a CBRE Accounting Sr. Manager of Compensation, you will lead all accounting, analysis, and reporting activities associated with CBRE's global bonus compensation programs - an annual spend more than $1B across more than 150,000 employees in over 70 countries.

The role serves as the primary Controllership partner for Total Rewards, HR, and cross-functional segment and regional finance teams on all bonus-related matters. You will own end-to-end process integrity across the full bonus cycle: balance sheet management, global reconciliation, year-end validation process design, and leadership-level modeling. The ideal candidate combines deep technical accounting knowledge with the ability to build scalable processes and communicate complex financial information to senior leadership.
What You'll Do:

  • Own the US bonus balance sheet: reviews and dispositions aged or unsupported items.
  • Lead the global bonus reconciliation, tying segment over/under submissions to the consolidated accrual.
  • Design and execute the year-end validation process, from template freeze through Beqom posting.
  • Serve as primary finance reviewer in Beqom.
  • Build bonus scenario models for leadership: P&L and accrual impact.
  • Own the monthly line-of-business (LOB) bonus report.
  • Lead bonus communications to business units and Total Rewards.
  • Document the end-to-end bonus process in a formal SOP.
  • Partner with segment accounting, Business Finance, and the Shared Services Organization on monthly close and ad hoc bonus accounting matters.
  • Support Compensation and Benefits on internal and external audit requirements.
  • Apply a broad knowledge of the business, own discipline, and how own discipline integrates with others to achieve team and departmental objectives.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Influence others to adopt a different point of view while being guided by policies and departmental plans.
  • Identify and solve technical and operational problems of complexity.
  • Understand and recognize the broader impact across the department.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA or MBA (graduate degree) preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience with demonstrated ownership of balance sheet accounts and month-end close.
  • Compensation, benefits, or HR finance experience required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; translates complex financial information for non-finance audiences.
  • Proven experience presenting to senior leadership and VP-level stakeholders.

  • Ability to lead the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and handle problems.
  • Leadership skills to motivate the team to achieve broad operational targets with impacts on own job discipline, multiple job disciplines, and department.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Intermediate math skills. Ability to calculate complicated figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
