Key Responsibilities
  • Own key balance sheet accounts, such as accruals, for monthly, quarterly, and annual close
  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation prepared by accounting staff.
  • Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules for key accruals and other accounts
  • Manage key payment streams for healthcare providers, healthcare members and vendors
  • Lead balance sheet reconciliation processes and ensure timely resolution of reconciling items for staff and owned accounts
  • Manage intercompany accounting activities and ensure accurate elimination and reconciliation of balances.
  • Establish, maintain, and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff; review work product and provide coaching and performance feedback.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, HIPAA requirements, and applicable federal, state, local, and Puerto Rico regulations.
  • Monitor ERP system integrity and support process automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support strategic projects, system implementations, and other finance initiatives as assigned.


Qualifications:
  • BS/BA in Accounting required; CPA preferred.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience, including work in both public accounting and corporate accounting environments.
  • Knowledge of ERP and other accounting systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred)
  • High level of integrity, positive can-do attitude, and strong work ethic.
  • Demonstrated ownership of the month-end close process, including full-cycle accounting responsibilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications (advanced-level Excel, including pivot tables, XLOOKUPs, sumifs).
  • Healthcare company experience preferred
  • Ability to multitask and manipulate large amounts of data.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent problem identification and resolution skills, with a focus on addressing root causes.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

Location:

Position is remote and the location of candidate is flexible within the U.S.
