Manager, Administrator & Obligor Accounting (AO)

As a Manager, Administrator & Obligor Accounting , you will play a key role in the planning and overseeing of the administrator/obligor accounting activities in areas such as process improvement, quality assurance, and accounting/reporting operations. This position will be pivotal in ensuring that our processes are well controlled, scalable and designed to meet our clients' needs. This role will support the financial reporting and accounting operations for the company's administrators and obligors.

What you'll accomplish with us

As a Manager, Administrator & Obligor Accounting, you'll be at the core of our mission. Here are the main responsibilities:

  • Manage direct reports through planning, directing, and organizing departmental duties. Lead the team through continuous process improvement
  • Manage the monthly financial close process for administrators and obligors, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries and preliminary/final AO company financial statements
  • Monitor financial activity to identify and explain unusual activity or trends in income, expenses, assets, or liabilities as reflected in the general ledger.
  • Assist the Director, AOI in the sales reporting process/variance analysis including gross written premiums, cancellations, unearned premium reserves, administration fees, and underwriting fees (CLIP)
  • Ensure compliance and timely completion of account reconciliations as reviewer for the team. Ensure that reconciliations are appropriately assigned commensurate with the team's workloads and skillset
  • Assist in the development and reporting of relevant KPIs and metrics to optimize the performance and success of the team
  • Responsible for accuracy in the general ledger and financial statements and has ultimate authority over classification and booking of all transactions
  • Make recommendations for changes as needed and ensure that company policies and procedures are followed and establishes the proper techniques to discover and prevent fraud

  • Experience within the insurance or service contract industry required, F&I industry preferred
  • Experience in financial systems required (NetSuite, SAP, Blackline, Great Plains, etc.)
