JOB SUMMARY
The Accounting Manager is responsible for leading and managing the General Accounting Department, including General Ledger, financial close processes, and financial reporting. This role oversees the accuracy of ARGO's General Ledger, prepares historical financial statements, supports external audits, and drives accounting initiatives. The position also contributes to developing accounting practices, enhancing systems, maintaining fiscal records, and supervising accounting staff across multiple functions.

EXPECTED WORK AND PERFORMANCE (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
  • Lead, develop, and execute General Ledger accounting functions and initiatives.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end and quarter-end close, including reconciliations, roll-forwards, multicurrency transactions, and consolidations.
  • Drive the financial close process across business units.
  • Interface with external auditors and manage audit timelines and deliverables.
  • Perform detailed balance sheet and P&L reviews to ensure accurate reporting and proper revenue/expense recognition.
  • Identify and address non-standard transactions early to ensure proper accounting treatment and disclosure.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff; build a high-performing team with strong GAAP expertise.
  • Collaborate with business partners to resolve complex accounting issues and improve processes.
  • Prepare and review audit support documentation and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
  • Oversee development and implementation of new accounting systems.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including Balance Sheet, P&L, and executive reports.
  • Coordinate annual tax return preparation with external CPA firm and prepare supporting documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, sales, and HST tax calculations and filings.
  • Conduct analytical reviews of monthly results for accuracy and completeness.
  • Implement, document, and maintain effective internal controls.
  • Improve efficiency of close and reporting cycles through process enhancements.
  • Supervise accounts payable and invoicing functions to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Demonstrate alignment with ARGO's value chain principles (CRP3).

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
  • MBA or Master's in Accounting (preferred)
  • CPA license (preferred)
  • 8+ years of accounting experience
  • Minimum 4 years of management experience

REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE
  • Experience managing General Ledger and full close processes
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Experience with account reconciliations, internal controls, and financial statement accuracy
  • Ability to interface with external auditors and support audit processes
  • Experience with multicurrency accounting and reporting
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and present financial data to senior leadership
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills across all organizational levels
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP
  • Advanced Excel proficiency

ATTENDANCE/WORK LOCATION
The position is based in our Richardson, TX office. Daily physical presence in the office is required for interaction with co-workers, attending meetings, and for collaboration on projects.
