The
Accounting Manager reports to the Accounting Director and is responsible for leading and developing the operational accounting team. This role is also responsible for the identification and implementation of different business initiatives and process improvements.
The role is located at NVR's headquarters in Reston, VA.
Primary Responsibilities- Coach and mentor Accounting team members in order to maximize contributions to the business and provide a meaningful employee experience.
- Coordinate and execute the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality financial reporting.
- Prepare and analyze management reporting
- Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy across accounting operations.
- Ensure the implementation and maintenance of internal controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) and compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors and manage audit-related deliverables and communications.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Active CPA license or actively pursuing CPA licensure with plans to obtain in the near term
- Continuous improvement mindset and an ability to drive business value
- Leadership experience with teams of 3 - 6 team members
- Experience researching and evaluating technical accounting positions
- Experience with ICFR, including an understanding of SEC/PCAOB control requirements
- Public accounting experience, preferably with "Big Four" or large regional firm, having attained the rank of senior or above

This position pays $125,000 - $135,000 per year. This position may also be eligible for a bonus based on achievement of performance criteria.
