Who you are

Metropolis is seeking a highly analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive Accounting Manager to lead our Corporate Accounting team. In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day corporate accounting operations, drive the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes, and ensure compliance with GAAP standards. As a key leader within the finance department, you will manage a team of accountants, spearhead process improvements, and partner with cross-functional leaders to provide accurate and actionable financial insights. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses strong technical accounting skills, and is passionate about mentorship and team development.
What you'll do
  • Oversee the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for corporate entities, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of general accountants; foster a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and high performance
  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses (e.g., balance sheet and P&L fluctuations)
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting (SOX compliance where applicable)
  • Ensure strict adherence to US GAAP and company policies
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, preparing schedules and providing necessary documentation to ensure a smooth audit process
  • Identify inefficiencies in current accounting workflows and implement scalable software automation and process improvements
  • Partner with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and Legal teams to support corporate initiatives, budgeting, and ad-hoc financial projects
What we're looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role
  • Strong foundational knowledge of US GAAP and corporate accounting principles
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, macros)
  • Experience working with enterprise-level ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle)
While not required, these are a plus:
  • CPA or CMA designation (strongly preferred) or progress toward licensure
  • A mix of public accounting and private corporate industry experience

The anticipated base salary for this position is $120,000.00 USD to $145,000.00 USD annually. The actual base salary offered is determined by a number of variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, years of relevant experience, distinctive skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location of residence and/or place of employment. Base salary is one component of Metropolis' total compensation package, which may also include access to or eligibility for healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a lucrative stock option plan, bonus plans, and more. #LI-WT1 #LI-Onsite
