As we scale, you will help build the internal accounting function and bring processes in house.

  • Maintain accurate reporting of receivables and support leadership with forecasting and aging analysis.
  • Support audit processes and prepare required documentation.
  • Oversee accounts payable, expense management, and vendor onboarding workflows.
  • Manage SaaS revenue accounting including subscription billing, usage elements when applicable, and ASC 606 considerations.
  • Maintain accuracy in all accounting systems and support the transition of accounting functions in house as the company grows.
  • Partner with Operations, Sales, and Customer Success to ensure accurate data flow for billing, revenue, and customer activity.
  • Build scalable accounting processes and internal controls that support growth.

What We're Looking for:
  • CPA certification or significant progress toward CPA.
  • Three to five years of hands on accounting experience.
  • SaaS industry experience is required. AI or other high growth tech experience is a plus.

  • Strong understanding of GAAP, month end processes, and revenue recognition.
  • Experience managing accounts receivable and collections.
  • Experience working directly with external accounting firms or auditors.
  • Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks Online, Ramp, Stripe, Carta, Hubspot, and both Google Workspace and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment with shifting priorities and limited structure.
  • Strong communication skills, high ownership, and a proactive approach to solving problems.
  • Desire to grow your career and eventually help build an internal accounting team.

This role is based in one of our hub cities. For most of our team, being in a hub is how the distributed model works: it's where we concentrate in-person collaboration, community, and the investment we make in people over time. We strongly prefer candidates already in a GC AI hub metro, and expect regular in-person time - coworking, team meals, and quarterly offsites - plus up to 10% travel.

A Note On Pace

We're building something new in a once-in-a-generation shift in technology and the legal industry, so we move at a relentless pace. We expect urgency, ownership, and good judgment even when things aren't perfectly clear. If you need structure and consensus to do your best work, this isn't the right place for you. If you thrive in ambiguity and growth, work with intensity, and want real responsibility, keep reading. We're excited to meet you.

How We Work Together

GC AI is a distributed company with team members across North America, and soon Europe. We believe that because our business is AI, human connection matters more, not less. We invest in bringing people together through our hub model: regular coworking sessions, customer dinners, team and company offsites. If you're in a location without an office, expect up to 10% travel (and more for customer-facing roles).

Team members in the San Francisco Bay Area and Provo, UT (within 50 miles of the office) work together on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. As we grow, we plan to establish permanent offices in more hub cities, and we will look to our team members to help build that in-person culture. We currently hire across the United States and Canada.
