Job DescriptionInternational Real Estate Management company seeks a Bilingual Japanese Controller in the Manhattan Office. The company owns and manages a high-rise office building in a prime location in Midtown Manhattan.
Responsibilities:Monthly close of the books and records
Ensuring compliance with US GAAP through
Understanding the importance of new accounting standards
Impact on financial reporting
Influencing the future objectives of financial reporting through technology for automation
Budgeting, forecasting and function analysis for senior management
Lead contact between management and Deloitte for annual audit requirements
Leasing:
Critical evaluation of leasing transactions
Strong straight-line rent preparation and execution for new and modified agreements
Monitoring uncollectible rents and probability of collection for financial reporting requirements
Controls:
Overview of the current business control processes and potential for enhancements
Management level controls to enhance policies and procedures
Managing risks for the parent company in Japan
Lead the accounting department staff members through efficiency and educational viewpoints
Support tenant selection through
Requirements- CPA holder with 5-8 years of Big 4 experience in preparing US GAAP financial statements.
- Team player with a small team, multicultural work environment.
- Good liaison and communicator to the external auditors and tax advisors.
- Accounting knowledge should include lease accounting
- Bilingual Japanese (Read/Write/Speak) Preferable
