About This RoleWe are seeking an experienced and strategic Accounting Controller to lead our accounting operations and ensure the integrity of financial reporting. The Controller will oversee the month-end close process, financial statement preparation, internal controls, compliance, and day-to-day accounting activities while partnering with leadership to support business objectives and drive operational excellence. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses strong technical accounting expertise, and can effectively manage teams, processes, and cross-functional relationships.
W2 Hourly Rate: $65-90/hr DOE
What You Will Work On- Lead all aspects of the accounting function, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, payroll accounting, and financial reporting.
- Direct the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial results.
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies.
- Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal controls and accounting procedures.
- Oversee account reconciliations, journal entries, variance analyses, and balance sheet integrity.
- Partner with Finance leadership on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and strategic planning initiatives.
- Coordinate and manage external audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Provide technical accounting guidance and support for complex transactions and new business initiatives.
- Continuously assess and improve accounting processes, systems, and reporting capabilities to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Mentor, develop, and lead a high-performing accounting team while fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
- Support ERP implementations, system enhancements, and other process improvement initiatives as needed.
- Collaborate with business leaders across departments to provide financial insights and drive informed decision-making.
What You Will Bring- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation strongly preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and accounting best practices.
- Experience managing month-end close, audits, and compliance requirements.
- Proven ability to lead accounting teams and develop staff.
- Advanced proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a dynamic environment.
- Experience supporting process improvement, automation, and system implementations is highly desirable.
