Accounting Controller

Position Overview

The Controller leads Pike Industries' accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, compliance, and core financial operations. Reporting to the VP of Finance, this role is a hands-on member of the Finance Leadership Team and partners with operational leaders to protect financial integrity, improve performance, and modernize finance processes across Pike and affiliated businesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close; ensure timely, accurate financial statements and management reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company requirements.
  • Oversee general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, fixed assets, inventory, leases, construction contract and job-cost accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and tax support.
  • Maintain an effective internal control environment and coordinate internal and external audits, compliance activities, and required reporting.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, and financial analysis; provide actionable insight on profitability, cash flow, working capital, and operating performance.
  • Partner with Operations, Sales, Materials, Human Resources, and senior leadership on business decisions, process improvements, acquisitions, integrations, and strategic initiatives.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the accounting team; set clear expectations, strengthen capability, and support succession planning.
  • Drive finance modernization through ERP optimization, standardized processes, automation, reporting improvements, and effective use of AI-enabled tools.
  • Oversee CAPEX submissions and reporting and support CRH and divisional finance requirements.


Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant business experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership of accounting teams in a complex, multi-location business.
  • Prior accounting or finance leadership experience in construction, heavy civil construction, construction materials, aggregates, asphalt, ready-mix concrete, or a closely related industrial environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting, forecasting, audit coordination, and operational accounting.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Viewpoint Vista, SAP S/4HANA, or comparable enterprise platforms; strong Excel and financial analysis capability.
  • Proven ability to communicate with operational and executive leaders, solve complex problems, manage deadlines, and lead change with sound judgment and integrity.
