The Accountant - Corporate Accounting position serves a critical role in providing accounting support and reporting preparation to various indirect support functions as well as assisting in complex accounting processes.
This position will be part of the Corporate Accounting group and will report to a Manager/Supervisor within the Corporate Accounting group. They will assist in the month-end close process for indirect support functions, provide reporting and forecast/budging support, and handle ad-hoc accounting requests. Additionally, the position will assist (for some, not all, of the tasks listed below) in the accounting for stock-based compensation, bonus and other compensation programs, debt, investments, derivatives, legal/environmental reserves, pensions and other retirement programs, and insurance.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties- Maintain compliance with applicable U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations.
- Maintain compliance with SOX controls over corporate accounting.
- Assist in collaboration with cross functional groups such as BD, HR, HSE, IT, Real Estate, Tax, Treasury, Legal to deliver accurate and timely reporting for executive and upper-level management.
- Assist in month-end close processes to facilitate timely and accurate financial results for indirect support functions and corporate accounting processes as well as forecast and budget support.
- Assist in preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Gather information and review data to ensure the accuracy of accruals and month end results.
Qualifications- Requires completion of an undergraduate degree in accounting, business, or other related field and a minimum of nine (9) months of experience in accounting related roles.
- (2) to (5) years of experience in accounting related roles is strongly preferred.
- CPA or actively working on completing.
- Willingness to work overtime, as necessary, during month-end close to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment to produce accurate results.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe Pro.
- Knowledge of US GAAP.

- Solid attention to details, highly organized, and great time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
A plus, but not required:- Public accounting experience.
- Large or global company experience.
