The Role
This is not a traditional account management role. We are looking for someone who can become an active extension of our clients' teams. This individual needs to understands their client's business, know their data, identify what matters, and turn complex information into clear, evidence-backed insights that help clients make better decisions.
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable leading a client conversation, analyzing a dataset, building a compelling story from the findings, and presenting a recommendation to senior stakeholders.
You will own relationships with several of Game Theory's strategic clients and serve as the connective tissue between our data, our internal teams, and the people making decisions on the client side.
What You'll OwnClient Partnership & Account Leadership- Serve as the day-to-day strategic lead for a portfolio of key Game Theory clients.
- Develop a deep understanding of each client's business objectives, sponsorship portfolio, measurement priorities, and internal stakeholders.
- Operate as an extension of the client's team, not simply a vendor or reporting resource.
- Lead recurring client meetings, business reviews, analysis sessions, and strategic discussions.
- Proactively identify questions the client should be asking, not just respond to the questions they send us.
- Build strong relationships across client organizations and become a trusted resource for both day-to-day teams and senior decision-makers.
- Coordinate with Game Theory's internal data, product, research, and leadership teams to ensure clients receive timely and actionable support.
Data Analysis & Insight Development- Work directly with large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, outliers, opportunities, and performance drivers.
- Analyze sponsorship exposure, media value, audience, asset performance, competitive activity, and other relevant datasets.
- Translate raw data into clear insights, implications, and recommendations.
- Go beyond reporting what happened to explain why it happened, why it matters, and what the client should do about it.
- Combine Game Theory data with relevant third-party and client-provided information to create a more complete view of performance.
- Conduct ad hoc analysis in response to client questions and emerging business needs.
- Develop benchmarks and comparative analyses that put individual results into meaningful context.
Storytelling & Strategic Communication- Turn complex analysis into simple, persuasive narratives for client stakeholders.
- Build executive-ready presentations, reports, dashboards, and recommendations.
- Support clients with evidence they can use to communicate internally, defend investments, evaluate partnerships, negotiate agreements, and make future investment decisions.
- Clearly distinguish between data, interpretation, and recommendation.
- Present findings confidently to senior executives and cross-functional teams.
- Find the "so what?" in the data and make it easy for clients to understand and act on.
What We're Looking ForWe are looking for someone who sits at the intersection of account management, analytics, consulting, and storytelling.
The strongest candidates will have:
- 5 - 8+ years of experience in account management, analytics, consulting, insights, strategy, sponsorship, media, or a related field.
- Significant experience working directly with clients and senior stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills, and proven ability to work independently with complex datasets.
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills, including lookups, pivot tables, formulas, data manipulation, and analytical modeling.
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to turn analysis into executive-level storytelling.
- Experience with BI and visualization platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar tools.
- Ability to quickly understand unfamiliar datasets and determine what is meaningful.
- Strong business judgment-the ability to understand the commercial implications behind the numbers.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence presenting findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple client workstreams simultaneously.
Experience in sports, sponsorship, media measurement, advertising, marketing analytics, consumer insights, or sports business is highly preferred.
Experience with SQL, Python, Databricks, or other advanced analytics tools is a plus, but the ability to interpret and communicate data effectively is more important than being a data engineer.
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role isn't measured by how many reports you deliver. It's measured by how valuable you become to the client's organization.
Within your accounts, clients should increasingly view you as someone they can call when they have a question, need evidence to support a decision, or want to understand what their data is telling them.
You should be able to move fluidly from: Data > Insight > Implication > Recommendation > Action
Over time, you will develop enough knowledge of each client's business that you can anticipate their needs, proactively surface opportunities, and provide supporting evidence before they ask for it.
The Profile We're Looking ForYou may currently be a Senior Account Manager who has always been unusually analytical.
Or you may be a Senior Analyst who has always been unusually good with clients.
Either way, you are someone who doesn't want to simply manage a relationship or analyze a dataset-you want to use data to help clients make better decisions.
You are naturally curious. When you see an interesting number, your instinct is to ask why. When you find the answer, your next instinct is to figure out why the client should care.
That's the person we're looking for.
