  • Act as the subject matter expert on Plaid's Payments products in customer interactions and industry events.
  • Conduct thorough discovery to identify customer pain points and link them to Plaid's Payments solutions.
  • Keep track of win/loss trends, competitive dynamics, and product-market fit in your segment.
  • Provide insights on customer and market needs to inform product and go-to-market strategies.
  • Support sales enablement by creating materials and coaching AEs on solution positioning.

Overview

The Product Sales team at Plaid combines deep product and market expertise to drive adoption and revenue for Plaid's most strategically important solutions. We partner closely with Account Executives, Account Managers, and GTM leadership to develop and close deals across both new and existing customers. The Payments team specializes in bank payments, ACH risk, and money movement - products at the core of Plaid's growth that represent a significant and under-penetrated market opportunity.

Role

As an Account Executive, Product Sales - Payments, you will drive revenue growth for Plaid's growing suite of Payments solutions- Account Verification, ACH Risk Optimization, and Money Movement. Your primary focus is partnering with account teams to develop and close opportunities.

You bring deep payments expertise and a commercial skillset to customer conversations at all levels, translating business problems into Plaid solutions and contributing directly to how we go to market.

Responsibilities
  • Drive ACV attainment for Payments solutions across your assigned segments, with clear accountability for pipeline generation and deal execution
  • Partner with AEs and AMs on discovery through close; take direct ownership of select high-value or complex opportunities as needed
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on Plaid's Payments products in customer meetings, competitive situations, and industry events
  • Conduct deep discovery to uncover customer pain points and connect them to Plaid's Payments solutions
  • Maintain real-time visibility into win/loss trends, competitive dynamics, and product-market fit across your segment
  • Relay customer and market insights to Product and PMM to inform roadmap priorities and go-to-market strategy
  • Support sales enablement by developing materials, coaching AEs on solution positioning, and sharing competitive intelligence

  • Comfortable operating with ambiguity in a fast-moving, high-growth environment
  • Nice-to-have: Experience in industries with billing & recurring payments use cases (lending, insurance, etc.)
