Description & RequirementsAbout the RoleThe Account Executive - Federal Government is responsible for the overall success, performance, relationship management, and long-term growth of Maximus Canada's Technology Consulting Services Portfolio.
This role is first and foremost a trusted delivery and relationship leader who ensures Maximus consistently delivers on its commitments and is viewed by clients as a credible, outcomes-focused partner. Through strong performance, deep understanding of client priorities, and sustained executive relationships, the incumbent acts as a strategic advisor who brings forward ideas that improve operational outcomes, client experience, modernization effectiveness, and service delivery performance.
As a result, growth is achieved through credibility, insight, trusted advisory relationships, and strong collaboration across the Federal Government Ecosystem.
What a Typical Week Looks LikeStrategic Account Leadership (Federal Government)• Serve as senior relationship owner for assigned Federal Government clients, with a focus on Technology Services Consulting
• Develop and execute a multi-year account strategy aligned to client and Maximus priorities
• Support successful delivery of contracted services and achievement of performance outcomes
• Monitor account performance, risks, and opportunities
• Act as escalation point for client issues and ensure timely resolution
• Ensure full understanding of contractual commitments and delivery obligations
• Provide strategic insight and advice to both client and Maximus leadership
• Manage partner relationships as applicable within the portfolio
Executive Client Relationship Management• Build and sustain trusted relationships with senior client executives and decision makers
• Maintain regular engagement with client leadership in the Federal Government
• Understand client strategic direction, operational priorities, policy context, and modernization goals
• Position Maximus as a long-term transformation and service delivery partner
• Represent Maximus in governance forums, planning sessions, and industry events
• Maintain strong working relationships across business, operational, and technology stakeholders
• Develop and expand relationships across adjacent Federal Government/Agencies/Clients/Organizations
• Support awareness of Maximus' capabilities across the broader Federal Government Ecosystem
• Identify opportunities to extend trusted client relationships into related initiatives where appropriate
Innovation, Advisory & Account Growth• Develop a deep understanding of client priorities, pressures, and modernization objectives
• Act as a trusted advisor by bringing forward ideas that improve operational effectiveness, client experience, and service outcomes
• Identify opportunities to responsibly expand or enhance services where Maximus can add value
• Support the shaping of business cases and solution concepts aligned to client needs
• Partner with Growth, Proposal, and Solution teams when formal opportunities emerge
• Identify and help shape opportunities to extend Maximus' capabilities across adjacent Federal Government Clients/Departments/Agencies/Sectors
• Support strategic growth initiatives connected to Federal Government Client/Sector Priorities including Technology Consulting Services Specific Growth Area(s)
• Facilitate relationship development with relevant ecosystem and delivery partners where appropriate
• Contribute to sustainable, relationship-based growth built on delivery credibility and trust
• Share insight on emerging client, market, procurement, or sector priorities connected to the Federal Government Sector/Client Ecosystem
Internal Leadership & Coordination• Lead cross-functional teams supporting the account including operations, technology, finance, delivery, and growth teams
• Ensure alignment between client commitments and internal execution
• Support continuous improvement and innovation initiatives
• Provide client and market intelligence to senior leadership
• Collaborate with national growth and solution teams
• Support coordination activities across strategic partners and delivery stakeholders
Community & Market Presence • Maintain visible and active presence within the Federal Government community
• Build relationships with client stakeholders and ecosystem partners
• Represent Maximus at relevant forums, industry events, and client-facing activities
• Strengthen Maximus' reputation as a trusted long-term service delivery and modernization partner
• Promote awareness of Maximus' capabilities across the Federal Government
• Maintain awareness of emerging priorities, modernization initiatives, and procurement trends in the Canadian Public Sector
• Support relationship development activities connected to the Federal Government aligned to Maximus' growth priorities
What You Bring• University degree in business, public administration, technology, or related field
• 15+ experience in account management, business development, consulting, or program leadership with the Canadian Public Sector
• Demonstrated experience managing large, complex public-sector, enterprise, or client accounts
• Experience working with the Federal Government strongly preferred
• Experience in technology-enabled services, digital transformation, operational modernization, or Technology Consulting Services preferred
• Experience working within partner-based delivery environments is an asset
• Experience supporting or contributing to proposal, renewal, or expansion opportunities is an asset
• Existing relationships within the Federal Government considered a strong asset
• Experience engaging senior stakeholders at Executive/Decision-Maker Level
