As a Senior Account Director at Talk Shop, you will play a leadership role across a portfolio of top-tier clients, acting as both a strategic advisor and operational lead. You bring deep expertise in public relations, strong business acumen, and a proven ability to build trust with senior client stakeholders. You will oversee account performance, guide high-level strategy, and ensure exceptional delivery across all client work.
You will also lead and mentor a growing team, contribute to business development, and play a key role in shaping the overall success and profitability of the agency. A day in the life of a Talk Shop Senior Account Director:
- Lead and manage a portfolio of top-tier clients
- Provide senior-level strategic PR counsel across accounts knowing when experienced account leadership is needed
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with executive-level client contacts
- Ensure the highest quality of work is delivered across all accounts
- Oversee account performance, ensuring efficiency and profitability
- Act as final quality control across deliverables and client outputs
Drive account consultation and overarching strategy
- Serve as senior consult across a broader portfolio, including previously managed clients
- Lead and grow existing clients and business suggesting campaign and service opportunities based on their business goals
- Oversee onboarding of new clients into the portfolio
- Allocate and manage time dedicated to monthly client consultation
- Partner with account leads to ensure strategic alignment and account health
- Participate and contribute to bi-weekly management meetings
Lead and develop high-performing teams
- Provide mentorship, training, and leadership to Account Managers and Associates
- Support career growth, role satisfaction, and performance management across the team
- Identify and escalate team challenges, providing solutions to leadership
- Manage team capacity and resourcing, making recommendations for growth or changes
- Model and reinforce Talk Shop's culture and leadership standards
Support business development and agency growth
- Contribute to business development efforts specifically supporting on concepts and aspects of proposal writing and pitching new business
- Support closing and onboarding of new business opportunities
Support team recruitment and growth
- You are a well connected individual with a deep network of future employees or consultants, and agency partners in markets across the US
- Participate in recruitment efforts, including interviewing and hiring
- Help identify talent needs and build a strong, scalable team
What you'll bring:
- 5+ years of PR or communications experience, preferably within an agency environment.
- Proven experience managing senior client relationships is essential, as strategic counsel and customer growth is a core focus of this wrong.
- Strong business acumen with experience managing account profitability and growth
- Demonstrated leadership experience with a passion for mentoring and team development
- Confidence in leading high-stakes client conversations and navigating complex challenges
- Track record of contributing to business development and revenue growth
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills
